Innovating Hand Rehabilitation 🌟 Losing hand function can severely impact daily life, and unfortunately, 83% of patients in Germany do not regain their baseline function despite therapy. But how can we develop more effective, objective ways to track progress and improve rehabilitation outcomes? In his research internship, Friedrich Hippe worked on refining the prototype of the HFD 200, a hand strength measurement device designed to monitor the course of therapy for neurodegenerative diseases. The focus? Creating a tool that patients can use independently at home for both measurement and training, bridging the gap between clinical settings and daily life. The idea for the research internship came from the development team behind the HFD 200: Cornelius and Constanze Weber. Friedrich’s evaluation of the device involved 3D models and special questionnaires, tailored to assess the usability of everyday household equipment. This is an exciting step toward accessible, patient-centered rehabilitation and better therapeutic outcomes. My colleagues and I found ourselves thinking about Liu Cixin's "The Three-Body Problem". Surprisingly, it’s a fitting metaphor for our journey. In physiotherapy, just like in the three-body problem, we're constantly navigating three interconnected elements: Patients, Therapists and The Environmental. Each patient presents a unique set of challenges and needs. From their physical condition to their mental state, understanding and adapting to each individual is akin to predicting the path of a wandering planet. Meanwhile as therapists, our knowledge, skills, and even our intuition play a crucial role. Our continuous learning and adaptability are essential in providing effective care. Finally ,the clinical setting, available resources, and even the broader healthcare landscape can significantly influence outcomes. Like gravitational forces, these external factors can either aid or complicate our efforts. Balancing these three elements requires a blend of science, art, and empathy. Every day is a new equation to solve, and while it may seem daunting, it’s also what makes this field so profoundly rewarding. #Physiotherapy #ThreeBodyProblem #Internship

Recently, I presented on the effect of exogenous substances on tissue quality and remedies to avoid the production of poor quality slides, one of the four seminar presentations required for my one year internship program in FEDERAL MEDICAL CENTER, OWO, ONDO STATE. Exploring the effects of exogenous substances on tissue quality is crucial in understanding how our environment and external factors can influence histological samples. By discussing remedies to prevent poor quality slides in histopathology, we enhance the accuracy of diagnostic procedures and research findings, ultimately improving patient care and scientific advancements in the medical field.

Learning on the Job: My Internship Experience in Physiology✨ Last week's content was on foundational knowledge, while this week's edition is on professional experience, medical research, and skills. Be rest assured that my posts henceforth will not be as lengthy as before. 😊 During my internship, while I was still a student, I had the chance to work alongside medical scientists, embryologists, and medical doctors. 🧑🔬👩⚕️ It was a huge learning curve that gave me hands-on experience in the field. I developed several technical skills that you don’t come by easily, from handling lab equipment 🛠️ to observing complex procedures. 🔬 One area that really stood out for me was working in embryology and getting exposed to assisted reproductive techniques. 👶✨ Seeing how these techniques help create life was incredible, and it taught me to stay sharp and always think on my feet. 🧠⚡ I wasn’t just learning the technical side—I was learning to adapt quickly, not sluggish but smart in decision-making. This experience solidified my passion for physiology and showed me how much impact the field has in healthcare. 🏥 Stay tuned for Wednesday's post.😘 Photo credits to Canva. #InternshipExperience #PhysiologyJourney #AssistedReproductiveTechniques #preciousakindeseptemberlinkedinchallenge

🚨2024 LinkedIn Rewind🚨 I started using LinkedIn in late summer 2024, and the experience has been both educational and enriching. It has not only broadened my understanding of the professional landscape but also helped refine my career vision and goals. Here’s a look back at my 2024 LinkedIn journey: They say healthcare is about curing, but 2024 taught me it's really about connecting dots no one else sees. This year, I discovered that the most powerful innovations happen where technology meets human experience. From researching digital neurotherapeutics to a transformative medical internship in a Moroccan neonatal clinic, every experience showed me how complex and beautiful healthcare can be. 🌟 Highlights that Reshaped My Understanding: → Completed groundbreaking research on digital neurotherapeutics for ADHD, revealing how technology can transform mental health approaches. → Gained invaluable insights during a neonatal care internship in Morocco organised by the Career and Employability Services team with Intern Abroad HQ, witnessing healthcare's global and cultural dimensions. → Led a Dragons Den-style project to market an innovative medical wearable device for patients with allergies, demonstrating how technology can be leveraged to address the daily challenges faced by patients. → Graduated with a First Class Degree in Clinical Sciences from the University of Bradford and Transitioned to Physician Associate Studies at Hull York Medical School/University of Hull, refining my expertise and skills to deliver more effective, patient-centered care. Looking ahead to 2025: I'm committed to exploring how digital innovation and hands-on clinical care can create more holistic, compassionate healthcare experiences. To my mentors, colleagues, and the incredible healthcare community - thank you for showing me that true innovation is about connecting human stories, not just solving technical problems. #PhysicianAssociate #ClinicalSciences #Healthcare #Healthtech #MedTech #HealthcareInnovation #Innovation #LinkedInRewind #2024Rewind #NHS #CareerJourney #Graduate #Masters #Postgraduate #Internship #Medicalfield #ProfessionalDevelopment #GlobalHealth #Coauthor
