Cybersecurity Alert A groundbreaking study titled "Cybersecurity in the Age of Offensive AI" reveals a stark prediction: 93% of security leaders anticipate facing daily AI-driven cyberattacks. This new era of digital threats sees cybercriminals increasingly adopting AI to enhance their offensive capabilities, with 65% of leaders expecting AI to become the norm in cyberattacks within the next six months. Despite the rapid adoption of AI in cyber defense, with notable improvements in security postures, significant gaps remain. While AI defenses effectively mitigate high-impact attacks like DDoS, they are less utilized against relentless bot attacks, which still pose a major threat to business revenues. Security professionals are urged to prioritize AI in their strategic discussions at the board level, preparing for an imminent wave of sophisticated AI-driven threats. Our colleague Johannes Riedl recently attended a panel called “The Age of AI is Upon Us: AI Security Debate" at the CIO Digital Enterprise Forum. The panel discussed how AI has become a significant force in cybersecurity. With 80% of cybersecurity vendors integrating AI into their tools, the landscape is changing rapidly. Organizations need to recognize that while AI can strengthen our defenses, hackers are using it too. The most important takeaway for us was that patching alone won't suffice anymore. The rise of shadow IT and Shadow AI, along with threats like deep fake videos and emails, highlight the need for preventive cybersecurity measures. This includes real-time threat detection, continuous monitoring, and automated response systems to stay ahead of potential attacks. Preventive measure are vital for organizations to adopt, creating a security-focused culture within companies is crucial. Staff training is essential, as user behavior can bypass even the most advanced technology. Ensuring everyone understands their role in maintaining security helps build a robust defense against cyber threats. #AI #Cybersecurity #DigitalTransformation

Ever heard of CLICKFIX ATTACKS! With virtual meetings now a core part of our daily lives, platforms like Google Meet, Teams and Zoom have become essential. However, as we rely on them more, cyber threats are evolving to target our online habits. One such threat is the ClickFix phishing campaign - an advanced scam that leverages our familiarity with these platforms to gain unauthorized access. ClickFix phishing scams masquerade as legitimate meeting invites from the platforms to trick users. Cybercriminals use social engineering to convince users they need to address "technical issues" in well-known apps like Chrome or Microsoft Word. Falling for these prompts can result in users unknowingly running malicious code, opening doors for security breaches. How to recognize and avoid ClickFix scams: - Verify Invitations – Always confirm meeting invites, especially those that appear to be urgent or unexpected. - Avoid “Fix” Prompts – Treat requests for “urgent fixes” with skepticism. Confirm issues with a trusted source. - Be Link-Cautious – Don’t click on links in unsolicited emails; go directly to the application website to check for updates. - Awareness awareness awareness. The more we recognize threats like ClickFix, the better equipped we are. #CyberSecurity #VirtualMeetings #PhishingAwareness #StayVigilant #RiskManagement #InternalAudit #Insurance #FinancialServices Simon Au-Yong
