Having led 2 trade promotion management solution providers for close to 20 years, a brand > $15M to $20M in sales should definitely have a well-defined internal trade promotion process in place before evaluating solution providers. Each solution will have different strengths, address a brand's priorities differently and without these processes defined and aligned internally, it is almost certain that the solution will 1) take significantly longer to implement 2) have limited usage / user acceptance 3) become a 'point' solution vs. a complete 'closed loop' solution and / or 4) require a 're-do' at some point. If you are a small brand (say, under $10M) changing solutions if /as needed can be inconvenient, but not as much of an organizational disruption as a larger brand. Trade promotion touches most parts of an organization.
