Check out our latest podcast episode where Craig Beggins, Jeff Beggins and myself discuss the recent settlement by the National Association of Realtors regarding buyer and MLS commissions. It emphasizes that the headlines about the settlement are misleading and overblown. It must have been a very slow news cycle as the changes are actually really very simple. Highlights 🏢 The settlement eliminates the disclosure of buyer-broker compensation in the MLS. 📝 Buyer agents now need to have a signed buyer broker agreement with their clients. (Which they should have been doing) 💼 This will force a well needed cleansing of non professional agents and will leave the professional ones👍 💰 Commission incentives are important marketing tools for sellers and we will not eliminate them as a company. Good buyers agents bring buyers to a property. 🏠 Sellers need to be more thoughtful about who and what company they hire to sell their properties and ensure they have a very strong marketing strategy beyond the MLS.
