FedEx Plans Fully Automated Air Cargo Hub in India
Blueman Exim News | New Delhi | December 25
FedEx Corporation, the global leader in express transportation, is set to establish its first fully automated air cargo hub in India, aiming to connect intra-India and regional markets with global trade routes. Kami Viswanathan, President of FedEx MEISA (Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa), confirmed that the company is working with the government on regulatory changes to facilitate the hub's establishment. This advanced facility will enhance faster connections between Indian cities and international markets, positioning itself as a sub-regional hub for South Asia and neighbouring markets.
FedEx is also expanding its operational infrastructure in India, with significant investments in capacity enhancements for routes from Asia to India and westward to Europe and the US. Additionally, gateway infrastructure improvements are underway in Delhi and Bengaluru, further solidifying India’s role in FedEx’s global network. This strategic move is expected to boost trade connectivity and logistics efficiency for Indian businesses.
