It’s a really good use case of AI
Vice Chairman | Passionate about creating wealth responsibly | Supporting businesses that achieve above market rate returns whilst delivering positively on the environmental and social aspects
AI has indeed been making waves in the art world, creating new concepts and redefining what we consider art. One notable example is the project “The Next Rembrandt,” where an AI was trained on the works of the Dutch master Rembrandt to create a new painting in his style. This project involved analysing thousands of data points from Rembrandt’s existing works to generate a piece that he might have painted if he were alive today. AI-generated art is not just limited to mimicking old masters. Tools like DALL-E 2 and Midjourney allow artists to create entirely new and unique pieces by inputting specific phrases or concepts. For instance, DALL-E 2 was used to create a magazine cover for Cosmopolitan, showcasing how AI can collaborate with human artists to produce stunning visuals This fusion of AI and human creativity is opening up new frontiers in the art world, allowing for the exploration of styles and concepts that were previously unimaginable. How do you feel about AI’s role in art? Do you think it enhances creativity or poses a challenge to traditional artists? #AI #art #creativity

AI-Generated Art: Redefining Creativity AI-generated visuals are unlocking a new era of creative possibilities. Let me tell you a story. The painting titled Edmond de Belamy is an AI-generated portrait created by a Paris-based art collective called Obvious in 2018. The portrait, which resembles a classical oil painting, was generated using a neural network trained on thousands of portraits from the 14th to the 20th centuries. Edmond de Belamy sold at auction for $432,500—a figure far surpassing expectations. What’s fascinating here is not just the final artwork but the process: the AI, through a type of algorithm, learned stylistic nuances by studying countless portraits. Then, by combining those elements in novel ways, the AI produced a work that feels eerily human yet distinctly different. This example reflects a broader trend: AI is being used by artists not just to replicate human-made art but to co-create with humans in new and unpredictable ways. Artists are using AI to explore visual patterns, simulate emotions, and create styles that might have otherwise never been imagined. This blurring of boundaries raises fascinating questions about originality, authorship, and what it means to "create." But is AI creativity in Art the type of creativity we need? Would you buy AI generated art? #AIArt #FutureofCreativity #visualculture #visuals

I really want to share this interesting article “Bias against AI Art Can Enhance Perceptions of Human Creativity” with all of you!! Through six experiments, the researchers found that people tend to devalue AI-made art compared to human-made art, even when they are indistinguishable. This bias persists even when the actual content of the art remains unchanged. The study suggests that this prejudice against AI-produced art may inadvertently elevate the perceived value of human creativity. As the famous American painter James Whistler once said, “An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision”. When we assume a piece of art is human-made, we may subconsciously attribute to it a depth of vision and a unique interpretive framework, seeing it as an extension of a human perspective on the world. This aligns with Whistler's notion: we value art not merely for its form but for the perceived insight and emotional intent of the creator. In contrast, AI, seen as devoid of subjective experience, is often viewed as producing art through “labor” alone—complex algorithms rather than a guiding “vision.” This perception gap explains why AI art, regardless of technical quality, may feel less impactful or valuable to viewers. While AI can replicate artistic labor, it may never achieve the perceived “vision” we associate with human creativity. In the future, will we fully admit the artistic works created by AI are true art? https://lnkd.in/gQX4mEmk #genaiandhumanities

As #AI continues to advance into the creative space, it raises important questions about the future of art and human creativity. AI-generated works like those created by the humanoid robot Ai-Da challenge our traditional notions of what it means to create. Are we witnessing the end of human-driven artistry, or is this the start of a new creative movement where humans and machines collaborate to push boundaries? Just as photography revolutionized art in the 19th century, AI offers us a new tool—one that can break free from repetitive patterns and even inspire new human creativity. But can a machine truly be an artist? Does intent and emotional depth still matter in a world where algorithms are generating images and sculptures? The debate on AI, art, and authorship is more relevant than ever, and it reflects a broader conversation about how technology is shaping our identity. It’s not just about the final product but the process, intent, and meaning behind these creations. #AI #Art #Creativity #Technology #Innovation https://lnkd.in/gFsxzAgk

As a researcher, I always take pride and moral standing in producing my work, free of plagiarism, and recognizing all whose work I referenced; that is ethical academic practice. Point 1: Assuming a human-centred goal, any work from AI proferred as part of mine must be in some way cited as such to protect human authenticity. As a linguistic-cognitive practitioner, I advocate that the human capability of thought and expression is AI-unassailable because of the human's innate ability to create something from nothing, surfer language being a case in point. Point 2: I did not create myself, and neither did AI. I am a creation of a higher intelligence and AI is a creation of human intelligence; the ground rule being that the extension is never as good as the creator. As an aside, the fear that AI will become sentient and exterminate humans is not the greatest fear we should be concerned with. What I observe has been happening for many decades but with the advent of better technology, every next generation is increasingly being deprived of thinking; therein lies our greatest achievements, the lack of which could be our worst failure.
Human creativity versus AI: A conversation that redefines value. At SAP’s Sapphire conference, Andreas Welsch had a fascinating conversation with a sketch artist named Kenny. As Kenny drew a portrait, they talked about AI’s impact on the arts. Kenny expressed concern over AI encroaching on his work, pushing him towards digital sculpting and 3D animation. Yet, he firmly believes in the irreplaceable value of human creativity. This made Andreas ponder: Are we undervaluing human skill in our rush to embrace AI? Just as a Swiss watch isn’t merely about telling time, the true value lies in the craftsmanship and ingenuity behind it. Similarly, while AI can democratize productivity, it can't replicate the depth and authenticity of human creativity. As we navigate the AI revolution, let's remember to value and preserve the unique skills that make us human. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #Creativity #HumanSkills #Technology ◻️AI’s Swiss Watch Effect: The Value Of Human Creativity And Skills ◼️https://lnkd.in/dRMFHfMr
