Every product we’ve designed at idealis. has been built with deep empathy for the realities that leaders face in real time. As an HR leader, one of the challenges I faced was benchmarking what I was seeing in our workforce against what was happening more broadly. Unlike CFOs, there weren’t clear guidelines, standards and expectations for human capital reporting. It was hard to know what to measure and what to report on. And, it was hard to understand what mattered to people at work when it mattered most. Annual engagement surveys helped, and annual benchmarking reports released by big companies were useful… but they were lagging indicators. Decisions were being made moment to moment and I needed more information in the moment. The context was constantly shifting so the information needed to be current to meet the moment. In a world where data is the language of business, I didn’t have enough of it for human capital. Without it, I was less influential and impactful. I struggled to calibrate on what was normal. I couldn’t be the strategic partner to my board, boss and peers, or the fierce advocate for the workforce that I strived to be. Sound familiar? I’ve heard a version of this exact story from so many board members, CEOs, CFOs and CHROs since we launched idealis two years ago. That’s why I am so proud to launch our newest product with the talented team at CivicScience.
