Wednesdays are.. ..delicious. Midweek is a great stopping point to see where you are and what is guiding you. What are your motives? Which direction are you moving in? Have you ever read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz? It was released in 1997 and made quite an impact on me. Having been in the recovery circle in California, I was very open to self improvement and all four of these agreements screamed "YES!" I will be the first to admit, while the first and last are used as frameworks in my life, the 2nd and 3rd agreements our me to the test. #2. #3. Ugh. *Especially* #3. Notice how it reads, "with just this one agreement, you can change your life." 😳 Wow. Last week the USCG put out CG-MMC Policy Letter 01-24, "Temporary Extension of Administrative Grace Period For Credentialing Transactions" which extends the MMC expiration grace period from 1 year after expiration to 6 years after expiration. In other words, mariners will not have to retest within that 6-year window, however other endorsements such as BST may need to be renewed/revalidated. I am 99% sure this is retroactive. This change was created in an effort to increase the number of credentialed Merchant Mariners in the US. So, go, renew, and be prosperous! https://lnkd.in/gHuSjE9x

I analyse many hull fouling reports, but none of them follow the basic requirements laid out in MEPC 378. I have therefore extracted the relevant pages from MEPC 378(80), Annex 17. This document should be part of a owners/charterers library when instructing an UWS. There's no point in dive companies having Classification Accreditation if they do not follow the standards that are laid down by the IMO. This begs the questions are the dive companies actually accredited or are the C.S. just giving out accreditation no matter what the standards are?
