Reflections on the ACE Character Conference Last week, I had the privilege of attending the ACE Character Conference, and it was an incredibly insightful experience. The event brought together passionate educators and thought leaders, all committed to embedding character education into the fabric of our schools. Key takeaways from the conference: 1️⃣ Personalisation: It's essential to tailor our character values to reflect the unique needs of our school community and key stakeholders. 2️⃣ Simplicity matters: Sometimes, less really is more! Streamlining our values allows us to focus deeply on what truly resonates with our students, staff and parentd. 3️⃣ The Jubilee Framework: Selecting a virtue that best aligns with our school’s needs provides a foundation for categorising core character values. Exploring other virtues from the framework adds depth to our approach. One of the most rewarding aspects of the conference was connecting with leading experts in the field. Sharing ideas and learning from others reaffirmed the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful change in education. Feeling inspired and excited to implement these insights into our school’s character education journey. Fantastic workshop sessions too by Gurdeep and James from Aylesbury Grammar School on parental engagement and from Charlotte Tibbs and Simon Hart at Springwest Academy on embedding the Jubilee Framework. particularly inspired by the way Springwest serves their multicultural demographic. #CharacterEducation #ACEConference #EducationLeadership #VirtuesInAction
