PODCAST ALERT: HR professionals are learning from the wrong people; The people who are struggling with the same things they do. These HR conferences are like AAA support groups; keep them afloat but will never make them successful in their roles. Learn from the best not from the rest. PS: Successful HR people don't sit around at conferences so you will have to find them elsewhere.

The prevailing ‘Ulrich’ HR Operating Model is nearly 30 years old. It ‘kinda works’ in larger HR teams, with long established flaws. Even Dave Ulrich thinks it’s time to move on. It’s a niche topic, but this CIPD podcast is a good outline of how the HR operating model is evolving. There’s also some good written material on the CIPD website (may not be available to non-members). Does it matter? Well, it does if you work in a large company and your HR team has team silos, etc. that reduce its effectiveness and can make the function less flexible and nimble. https://lnkd.in/eFpFZpvv
