🚀 Just published! The latest volume of Parameters (Strategic Studies Institute and US Army War College Press) includes an article of mine, which explores several critical aspects of NATO’s partnerships. After overviewing the main stages of NATO's partnership policy, I highlight its (many) structural deficiencies, and propose actionable solutions that consider the current state of international relations. 🔗 The article, along with the whole volume, is available for free download here: https://lnkd.in/dcGqqP4a #NATO #StrategicPartnerships #DefenseStrategy #Military #Security #Policy #Research #Publication

Can you destroy an idea? It isn’t the right question to ask. The better question is what ideas are you giving people so they can choose your idea. The second question is, what is our idea? Do you have a better option? If not then expect people to keep choosing the idea you hate. I am not sure you destroy an idea. However you can have a better idea that makes the first idea one people will never choose.
“the talk of destroying hamas is like throwing dust in the public's eyes. hamas is an idea. you cannot destroy an idea. the political leadership must find an alternative; otherwise, it (hamas) will remain.” - israeli military spokesperson daniel hagari

The Profumo affair in 1963 involved the British Secretary of State for War, John Profumo, having an affair with model Christine #Keeler, who was connected to a Soviet naval attaché. This scandal exposed blackmail and manipulation within the corridors of power. Intelligence agencies like #MI5, #MI6, and the #CIA exploited such situations to control and influence political outcomes. The involvement of these intelligence agencies highlights a transatlantic collaboration in managing public perception. Media manipulation was a critical component of the intelligence agencies' strategy. By controlling the flow of information, they could shape the narrative and protect their interests. The relationship between the #media and intelligence agencies was symbiotic. The #Profumo affair illustrates the power of #blackmail and media manipulation in the hands of intelligence agencies, revealing the dark underbelly of political control and the global impact of intelligence operations.
