Well as the nights have started to close in and there is more of an autumnal feeling in the air, the election and budgets are now out of the way. I am just hoping that this means that companies can start to focus of projects and get the right people in to get the job done. So this is yet another post pleading with someone that can help me get back into work. Having been looking for a new role since my last one finished way back in January 2024, you can’t begin to imagine the struggles over the last 9 months (275 days). So here’s a little bit about me: 👉 I have almost 30 years’ experience in Software Test, 👉 I have worked on everything from Finance/Insurance and Utilities to Government, Defence & Space. 👉 I specialise in functional testing, but have also done some non-functional testing too, using both the waterfall and agile methodologies. 👉 What I can do is bring years of experience to any project and I'm always happy to learn new things as I know there is still a lot I don't know. 👉 I am willing to take on new challenges and tasks outside my normal comfort zone. 👉 I am a team player and have consistently provided support to other members of the team when needed due to my friendly and enthusiastic approach to work. 👉 I am a UK citizen and hold current SC Clearance. What I am looking for: 💼 I’m looking for #SoftwareTestEngineer, #SoftwareTester, #TestAnalyst, #FunctionalTester, and #SystemTester roles. 🌎 I’m open to roles in #Hampshire and surrounding areas and happy to commute further for the right role. 🚗 Looking for #Remote, #Hybrid or #Onsite roles. 🏢 Either #Contract or #Permanent I am available immediately and open to discussing any potential roles, so if you could send me a message, comment below, and repost this I would really appreciate it! #SoftwareTest, #SoftwareTesting, #SoftwareTester, #SoftwareTestAnalyst, #SoftwareTestEngineer, #Tester, #Testing, #TestAnalyst, #FunctionalTest, #UAT, #UserAcceptanceTest, #ManualTest, #ManualTesting, #ManualTester Ministry of Testing

BugLife cycle . Status 1. New: A defect is identified and logged with all necessary details. 2. Assigned: The defect is assigned to a developer for analysis and resolution. 3. Open: The developer starts working on fixing the defect. 4. Fixed: The defect is resolved, and the fix is ready for testing. 5. Retest: The tester validates the fix to ensure the defect is resolved. 6. Closed: The defect is verified as fixed and marked as closed. 7. Reopen (if applicable): If the issue persists, the defect is reopened and the cycle continues. 8. Rejected – If developers during analysis found that defect is not genuine or valid or authenticate, then it is automatically assigned a status as 'Rejected'. #bug #QA #Manual #Testing #remote #jobs

I read a post on here recently saying if you want to try something new but are hesitant, try it for 2 minutes, you have nothing to lose except two minutes. Then just keep going.... So this morning I'be been trying our Playwright. I was so focussed in Cypress.io in my last role I never had the need to give it a go and now I have. Yet another test framework to learn! Also, as a reminder, I'm still available for short term contracts in: - Automated Front End Testing - Automated Backend testing (Postman) - QA Strategy/Planning - Exploratory testing - Anything else that fits under the QA/QE role. With my experience there's not much I've not seen :-) #QA #QAAutomation #Cypress #Selenium #QAPlanning #QAStrategy

The line between developers and testers is blurring. Job listings now commonly request developers with testing skills and testers with coding abilities. How is your team adapting to this evolution in tech roles? #TechCareers #SoftwareTesting

Software Testers are Important as Developers. Many times i do think that hiring software testers in industries to test softwares is a waste of time since we developers have already tested on the application we built. Little did i know that QAs have so many importance and it is far wide than the way i see the profession until i decided to switch career from Frontend into Penetration Testing and Software Testing. From my experiences, i noticed many developers most times are focused on the result and don't care on the code they write and as long as there are no code to debug, and it's working fine, we are satisfied. This is where QA comes in as a unit tester even though developers perform it alot. QAs are the secret opener or whistle blower. They look out for bugs that may slow the process of an application and they report this bugs. I enjoy being a QA especially when performing Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration testing😀😀.A big shout out to all QAs and Devs out there.
