Network APIs offer an incredible $12.6 billion market opportunity. With Comviva's #Ngage CNPaaS, telcos can tap into this vast potential, monetizing their network capabilities while tackling key challenges around anti-fraud, identity verification, and network performance optimization. Let’s connect to shape the future of Network APIs, together!
A recent S&P Global survey presented at CASA24 revealed a $12.6 billion market opportunity for Network APIs in 2024, with anti-fraud use cases and financial sector applications driving over 75% of the demand. However, despite this massive potential, the challenge of integrating network assets across multi-vendor environments remains a key hurdle. At Comviva, we recognize that the future of telco growth lies in adaptability and purpose-driven innovation. As a #GSMA Open Gateway Channel Partner, we are committed to creating a unified, interoperable network ecosystem through open standard interfaces. By embracing change and focusing on delivering customer-first solutions, we help telcos monetize their capabilities while addressing critical needs like fraud prevention and secure identity solutions. Our #NGAGE CNPaaS platform, with 16 CAMARA APIs, is designed to empower businesses with seamless anti-fraud, identity, and network performance capabilities, turning the B2B2X dream into reality. With purpose and flexibility at the core of everything we do, we continue to enable telcos to stay ahead in an increasingly digital and dynamic landscape. https://lnkd.in/dW4BfSZ7 #NetworkAPIs #TelcoGrowth #CNPaaS #Innovation #CustomerFirst #Telecom Rajesh Chandiramani Ravi Shankar Tarun Arora Jiwateshwar Singh

In an era where data is the new currency, telecom giants are finally unlocking the potential of their vast data infrastructures. The recent joint venture among industry players like AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefónica, Vodafone, and Ericsson isn't just another corporate alliance—it's a significant leap towards monetizing data through secure and trusted architectures. But as promising as this development is, it brings with it a set of challenges that could backfire for customers. The services being developed hold great promise for adding value to the digital ecosystem, especially in areas like fraud protection. When looking at the case of digital identity verification—which appears to be the "killer use-case"—there are, however, grey clouds forming on the horizon. Firstly, multiple consortia have emerged (GSMA Open Gateway, CAMARA), with commercial businesses, telco groups, and individual telcos already offering these services as standalone offerings. For a use case like digital identity, this splintering poses a problem for the paying customers of this data, who don't have visibility into which network provider the end user being verified is on. In traditional telco fashion, we can anticipate the rise of aggregators—companies that hold commercial relationships with paying customers (banks, online businesses, etc.) and providers of data. This intermediary role is essential because clients require comprehensive coverage and can't navigate the complex landscape of network owners when verifying subscriber identities. But here's the catch: while credible Digital Identity Intermediaries will exist, so will others less reputable, potentially creating an environment where customer data is collected illegally, abused, or arbitraged, (there is anecdotal evidence of this already happening). This scenario mirrors the carrier voice business and A2P SMS, potentially defeating the original goal of customer protection. For these initiatives to truly succeed and deliver on their promise, there must be a concerted effort towards standardization and safeguarding customer data. Only then can we fully realize the benefits of these emerging network API services without compromising trust and security. In my opinion, collaboration and stringent regulations are key to overcoming these challenges. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the challenges and experiences thus far..

I’m really excited about the potential of the GSMA Camara Open Gateway 🚀 Hosted by the Linux Foundation, Camara is an open-source initiative that standardises APIs to expose telecom network capabilities in a simplified and uniform way. Working closely with the GSMA Operator Platform Group, it’s setting a new global standard, making it easier for all players to collaborate and innovate. This joint effort combines Ericsson’s technical expertise with the strategic insights and global networks of telecom leaders including AT&T, Vodafone, Orange, Telefonica, Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, Singtel and many others. The last release -Fall24- is a major milestone delivering 25 innovative APIs that simplify access to critical telecom capabilities such as number verification, payment, location services, quality on demand and beyond. The potential of GSMA Camara is already becoming a reality. In France and Germany, leading operators have come together under the GSMA Open Gateway initiative to deploy APIs like KYC Match and SIM Swap, aimed at combating fraud and strengthening digital identity security. Meanwhile, Telefonica in Spain is, among many others, leveraging the Carrier Billing API to simplify and secure mobile payments, allowing users to make seamless transactions directly through their mobile operator bill. At Digital Virgo, our mission is to strengthen the connection between telecom networks and the digital economy, creating accessible and reliable solutions for merchants and telecom operators. The GSMA Camara initiative directly aligns with our vision, providing the tools we need to scale our mobile payment solutions more effectively. By leveraging Camara’s standardised APIs, we can simplify integrations for our partners, enhance the security of our transactions, and accelerate deployment in new markets. Camara isn’t just a technical advancement—it’s a catalyst for collaboration and growth. It empowers us to deliver seamless, secure, and scalable solutions, unlocking new monetisation opportunities while fostering a global ecosystem for developers and businesses. #TelecomInnovation #API #MobilePayment #FinancialInclusion #DigitalTransformation #FutureOfPayments #DVPASS #DigitalVirgo

Austroads National #Digital #Trust #Service is ready to scale nationally. The test results are out and will be showcased in Sapporo, Japan with the #ISO Working Group 10 tomorrow. In 10 months Austroads was able to: ▶️ Align States and Territories on common #Verifiable #Credential (VC) standards ▶️ Establish a high Assurance pre-production National Digital Trust Service (DTS) that allows #VCs and the attestation/claims presented by customers to be verified without the exchange of data. Special thanks to our DTS partner, MATTR ▶️ Use that #DTS in a public International trial to verify credentials with banks, retailers, other country VCs including North America and Europe. This includes verifying VCs on common technologies available to businesses today like wireless payment devices. Thank you to Fast Enterprises, LLC, IDEMIA, Entrust, Thales Digital Identity and Security and MATTR again for being sponsors for the event. ▶️ Pilot a new #Biometric matching service that will allow customers to selectively verify their biometrics from source for a range of commercial and government use cases, both online and face to face transactions. The link below includes a video that shows the extraordinary global collaboration that is happening today to make ISO based VCs a reality today. #Auspol #Technology #Payment #Identity AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators) Potential EU Digital Identity Wallet
