I’m still processing what Christina and I have done over the last six months. When we started planning this conference, we never imagined it would become what it is today. The conference spans over two days, nearly 100 CEUs, four tracks, 12 hours of content on each track for two days, and over 85 speakers. But the truth is, we didn’t set out to make something this big—it happened because people saw the need for change and wanted to be part of something that could actually fix the problems in our field.
As many of you know, the ABA world has become increasingly divided. There’s been so much anger, fighting, and lawsuits. We’ve seen professors, researchers, clinical workers, and experts canceled and silenced. It’s heartbreaking, and it’s not what any of us want for our profession. The idea for this conference came from a simple desire: to build a space where different voices—different opinions—could come together to talk, to learn, and to collaborate for a better future.
My daughter, who’s entering this field as an SLP and BCBA, deserves a future, like all young adults, where collaboration is the norm, not the exception. That’s why I decided to do this. But as we worked, more and more people joined in. People from all walks of ABA life, who might not agree on everything but who share the same hope—that we can stop the fighting, stop the canceling, and start building something better together.
Last Friday, I received some unexpected news that gave me pause with the conference. It was a moment that led me to reflect on everything Christina and I have worked on over the past six months. As we approach October 11 and 12, I realize that no matter how things unfold, this conference has already proven something powerful: most of us in the ABA field are united in wanting the same thing. We’re ready to move past the conflicts, the divisions, and the silencing of people. We want an ABA community that values collaboration, where differences are met with discussion, not discord, and where we can find solutions to strengthen our field.
This conference is more than just an event—it’s a movement. It represents the collective desire for something bigger and better in the ABA world. I’m incredibly proud of everyone who believed in this vision, who took a chance on this conference and us, and who stepped forward to be part of this change. Together, we’ve shown that we’re not just hoping for a more unified future—we’re actively creating it.
Thank you!
Let's face it. We're all sick of the rediculous prices.
Hosting a Memorial Day party is 3X higher than what it was just a few years ago.
Some friends of mine said they couldn't even afford to host one this year.
What grocery prices are you sick of having to pay the most for?
I like grass fed beef, and pasture raised chicken. The prices for quality has gone up significantly.
I'm paying $3.00 more for a box of Borax to add to my dirty clothes in the wash machine.
What are you doing to offset these costs?
Did you get a higher paying job?
Did you get a second or third stream of income?
Did you just change the way that you live to adjust to the high prices?
I'm curious how you all have made this work.
#SecondBirthDate
The giant player “Sun Pharma” published their advertisement on the front page of a local daily on the occasion of “Doctor’s Day." They published it with the #SecondBirthDate. They smartly narrated the story of one massive heart problem's survival. It was her rebirth when she came out of the challenging health ailment with the giant support and help of the “Sun Pharma” team.
While reading the contents of that advertisement, I felt something different. Since my kids started understanding the tiny details of living beings, society, and other things, they have very excitedly told me, “Mom, our birthday is actually your birthday too. How nice na, you can enjoy and celebrate your birthday twice a year." Wow, touched really. At such a tender age, they understood the importance of #SecondBirthDate of every mom on this earth, those who became mom once, twice, or many times. Salutes to all the respected mothers.
It so happened that on my floor in our society, fortunately, there is one more family, neighbours for many years, who supports this #. The mother, who is my bestie, once said, “Why do only kids get gifts on their birthdays? Mom should get one too, right? If no one thinks like that, then we should buy gifts for ourselves and pat our backs too." Boom, since then, it has added to the concepts that my kids started at home.
Why only celebrate your second birth date after surviving major health aliments? Giving birth is definitely a second birth for all girls. The same concept is narrated in many holy scriptures by giant spiritual gurus; actually, they were God’s own incarnation. Many or countless researchers have also proved it through their work, but society seems to keep mum about this major fact of life. They know; they are aware but feel scared to accept; why don't I know? This is the case with all, including partners, in-laws, and people from all walks of life.
It is great to see that things are not the same anymore, and with huge awareness, change is visible. Anyway, there is no point in talking about it now, as many in the next generation prefer to adopt pets or kids instead of having their own biological once. They prefer to stay with such adopted entities all alone. Great decision, indeed.
Requesting Sunpharma Prohance to kindly come up with such a conceptual advertisement too, next time, as mothers give birth to kids, either one, twins, triplets, or more, only by totally believing the medical professionals. Any city, state, country, or world is running smoothly as they have human beings in their workforce, delivered by mothers from all over the world. https://lnkd.in/gn997vqD

What a way to close out 2024! Just wanted to pause and say thank you for joining me on this journey in my little corner of the internet. 🛜
My theme for 2024 was Collaboration. I’m happy to say LinkedIn has been a beautiful place for that to organically occur. 🌱
I intentionally went “off the grid” on other platforms where I felt myself simply growing tired of those spaces, of the endless scroll and algorithms and bots. 🤖
As I look upon 2025, my word is Simplicity.
It’s part of my Purpose and the gift of Gene Key 23. 🔑 (Where are my Gene Keys people on LinkedIn? IYKYK ✨)
Simplicity is going to be the key to success as we develop the 50 State Leaders within Functional Medicine Pharmacists Alliance and relaunch our Live Bootcamp & State Chapter Experience on March 20th, the first day of spring. 🌸
My dream is to bring in 100 pharmacists in every state in 2025 as Founding Members of our new State Chapters. 🗺️
But how do we reach such a lofty goal? 🤔
One pharmacist at a time. 🤝
The State Chapter members will be receiving a much higher level of support than I’ve ever been able to offer through FMPhA, both individually and in small groups where the magic happens. 🤲
With so much changing at the state level across the profession of pharmacy and the field of functional medicine, I believe this is where the rubber meets the road. 🛣️
If you want to get on the shortlist to become a founding State Chapter member, there’s just one action for you to take right now… 🤫
Join the on-demand Bootcamp at the link in the comments. 🥾 (more details below) 👇
See you in the new year my friends! ✌️😉
This is why we do what we do.
Sometimes we, myself included, get caught up in the numbers/growth of the business and forget the real purpose is to help members like Luis live happier and healthier lives.
It's extremely rewarding to see stories like Luis's come from the big investment we've made in building a tightly integrated member experience with Accolade, Inc. to get members to appropriate care.
Whether its surgery with Carrum Health, expert opinion with Accolade EMO, or a more conservative treatment with partners like Hinge Health and Sword Health, we are able to remove friction from the healthcare experience for our members and ensure they get the treatment that is best for them.

This touching patient testimonial may bring a tear to your eye. We're so grateful to have had the opportunity at Carrum to help Luis get his hope back and take good care of him, which we strive to do for all our patients.
Shout out to our amazing partner, Accolade, Inc., who is also mentioned in this testimonial. When Luis called them, they told him that Carrum is covered for him by his company, and let him know that everything will be taken care of and there will be no surprise bills.

It is a community issue that affects a staggering number of people—the senior couple who lives next door, the young children in the neighborhood playdate, the family waiting in line at the grocery store. When two local organizations like Hunger Task Force and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield unite, we can make a profound impact in addressing the correlation between food insecurity and overall health in Milwaukee and the surrounding areas.
With the help from Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Hunger Task Force operates the Mobile Market, a grocery store on wheels, traveling throughout Milwaukee County to visit neighborhoods and communities that have limited access to fresh and healthy foods or that may reside in food deserts. Read more from Anthem’s Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial leadership in Wisconsin and how the organizations are working to bridge the gap between hunger and healthcare accessibility.
