My Unpopular Opinion: The Truth About Transitioning into Tech As a front-end developer, I enjoy being a techie, but I have to be honest - it's not always easy. In fact, it can be downright crazy. I've been there, done that, and almost gave up. But here's my story... At some point, I was stuck, frustrated, and feeling lost. I abandoned tech for a few months and had an identity and career crisis. I reached out to friends in the tech community, and they shared their own struggles and triumphs. They challenged me to show up, regardless of my feelings, and to take small steps towards my goals. Here is the turning point, I realized that showing up, even when it's hard, is crucial. It's about being accountable to yourself and others. So, I started small, rewarded myself for progress, and eventually tackled the tough tasks. And you know what? It worked! If you're struggling like I was, here's what I want you to know: - Show up, regardless of how you feel. - Take small steps towards your goals. - Be flexible and celebrate small wins. - Don't set unrealistic goals, and take breaks when needed. - Do right by yourself, and don't be too hard on yourself. Remember, life is full of challenges, but it's our response that determines the outcome. So, take a deep breath, be kind to yourself, and keep moving forward. Thanks for reading!
