If you haven’t heard, our friends at Black Innovation Alliance launched a new podcast, From Chains to Links, hosted by Kelly Burton, PhD and Ifeoma Ike, Esq. It’s a must-listen. In their words, “The blood, sweat, and genius of Black people has made the world wealthy. How can we make the advancements of Black people work for Black people? Each episode uniquely focuses on how we’ve innovated survival: joy, creativity, curiosity, collective economics, healing, and revolution. Through the power of conversations, each of our guests bravely revisit their own journeys to shed light on Black entrepreneurship in an authentic and honest way.” Over the first few episodes, I’ve learned a ton from the conversations between Kelly, Ifeoma, and their guests while loving the intimate feeling of dropping into a conversation between friends. It’s one of those podcasts you can enjoy listening to on a long walk but have to pause a bunch of time to take notes. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, ecosystem builder, investor, advocate, or creative interested in economic empowerment and innovation, you’ll learn from this podcast about the critical importance of supporting Black entrepreneurship and innovation. https://chainstolinks.com/

"...it became apparent that they needed safe spaces to be in the comfort of other Black men that told them that they mattered..." - Dr. Tyrone Howard. Episode 12: A Call to Action Guest: Dr. Tyrone Howard Listen Now: Spotify: https://lnkd.in/egPdKxxu Apple: https://lnkd.in/eZ6Gkn_k Coming to the close of National Stress Awareness Month, it's vital that we not only communicate the negative impacts of stress, but also develop solutions, when possible, to alleviate and heal. In our final teaser for our conversation with Dr. Howard, Antija A. and I learned more about the Black Male Institute (BMI) through UCLA, conceived by Howard, and officially launched in 2009, after assessing the lack of culturally affirming spaces for Black men on campus. Noting the limited population, these males communicated their own struggles navigating the university and some of the negative thoughts that were felt. Starting in an office, this would bloom into a space to not only address concerns about equity and access, but also a platform to conduct research, practical interventions, and effective programs that enrich the educational experiences and life chances of Black males in the U.S. See there...from a problem to a solution. https://lnkd.in/dFf4mbiQ Listen, share, weigh in...and most of all, enjoy! #nationalstressawareness #blackmaleinstitute #highered #notokbookproject #equity #podcastclip #newepisodealert
