The PatientSource recalls module enables the client to schedule future required care for patients. The functionality allows users to add reviews to the patient record and to view due and overdue reviews. The module also allows for letters to be sent for those patients who are due a recall and the system can automatically set a recall to complete, when appropriate action has taken place, for example; an appointment has been made or a test has been ordered.

According to NYTimes, Epic has made a wrapper around OpenAI’s API and draft messages for patients on behalf of physicians, resulting a risk of severe harm about 7 percent of the time. That’s why companies like us spend months building our custom models, validating and verifying answers, and making sure we bring the possible harm to almost zero, answers are factually correct, and easily understandable by the patient. What is interesting is that some healthcare executive asks “Epic is already doing it or it is on their roadmap, why you are doing it?”. This is the answer: Even Epic can not be everything to everyone! Open call: as reported in our paper, we claim answers to medical questions provided by our AI is 98%-98% correct. We wish for LLMs to improve EMRs. Rather than have LLMs focused on use by providers to feed the EMR monster, why not have LLMs developed for billing and coders as well as regulators to extract the information they need. Allow the clinical providers to focus on providing good care and the efficient documentation of clinical decisions. Let others who are not providing care to patients grind away at regulatory and financial requirements. Let the clerks and government bureaucrats use the AI tools to analyze the EMR. Stop requiring redundant entries into EMRs by clinical providers. Stop requiring that providers fit the patient into a box so someone can run statistics.
