🌟 Proud to be awarded Acosta Group's Quarterly Champion Award (Q2)! 🌟 This last quarter has been filled with so many proud moments that it's difficult to pick just one. If I had to sum it up, my ultimate goal across all my work comes down to three things: 1) Amplifying the growth minded culture here to show candidates that Acosta Group is a place where people build long, fulfilling careers. 2) Helping recruiters streamline their processes, centralize information, and make their jobs easier. 3) Educating TA on innovative ways to attract talent to the company. My journey began last July with a mission to create an employer brand that truly represents Acosta Group and drives talent across all our agencies. It's been a long road, and while there’s still more to do, I’ve learned so much along the way – about myself, the work I do, and the evolving nature of employer branding. Excited to keep pushing forward with everything I’ve learned so far! 💡 #AcostaGroup #EmployerBranding #RecruitmentMarketing #TalentAttraction #QuarterlyChampion #CultureMatters

What another fantastic session with the team at Portwest in Killarney this week. I worked with the team on: 💰 Selling styles on the Shopfloor and how to connect, engage and build brand loyalty with shoppers. 🧍♀️🧍🧍♂️Identifing customer profiles on the Shopfloor and having a selling preference for that customer persona. 🛍️🛒 Lots of role plays on how to upsell and link sell with shoppers through meaningful conversations that engage and connect with customers. The heart ❤️ of Retail is felt by shoppers from NOT the products BUT each team members personality on the shopfloor. How you show up is how you lead yourself and your team👨💼🧑💼👩💼 As a Leader in your Business how much of your personality your team’s personality and your companies personality impacts your bottom line??? For many they are all interlinked so if your business is currently not performing as you want it to look 👀 at 👇 🫵 How you are showing up for yourself and your team. ☝️How your team are showing up for one another. 👉 How is your business is showing up for your customers 👈 Owen Clifford ISME Ireland Uniphar Supply Chain & Retail Life Pharmacy Ireland Eurospar Musgrave

🤓 Did you know? Recognition in Retail is free 💵. Recognition goes a long way. It can be as simple as: 👍 Liking someones shoes. 👍🏻 Asking how they are feeling. 👍🏼 Acknowledging their work ethic. 👍🏾 Asking how their family is by name. ... and most importantly saying Thank-You. But... Please don't forget to celebrate. 🎉 The wins. 🎉 The effort. 🎉 And even the losses. Trying is half the battle 🤗. Remember that, 🎯 Recognition for everyone is different. Please make sure that you are recognizing them the way they would like to be recognized. For me, I like to be recognized with a simple high five and a thank you. Nothing else and nothing more. 😃 And finally, please document this fantastic event in their file so you can re-celebrate it during their reviews. Question. 👉 How do you like to be recognized? And as always and most importantly, Have a PHENOMENAL 🤩 Day. ============================== 📢 Do you want to know more about what I do? Ever heard the saying 'fake it till you make it'? Well, let me share a fascinating story from Richard Branson's autobiography. In “Screw It, Let’s Do It,” Richard Branson shares an ingenious story of Edina, who was tasked with selling ad space for a fledgling magazine. Facing resistance from major companies, she devised a bold strategy. Edina approached both PepsiCo and The Coca-Cola Company claiming the other had already committed to #advertising. To sell the illusion, she created two dummy magazines, each featuring #ads from the rival brand. This audacious move worked! Both giants believed they were in a race to outdo each other and signed on. Edina’s clever tactic secured the magazine’s success, proving that sometimes, taking bold risks and thinking creatively can turn the tide in your favor. Sometimes, a little creative persuasion can turn a bluff into reality. It's not about deceiving, but rather demonstrating confidence and potential. #businessbrilliance #successstories #cocacola #pepsi #Saas #Sales

I worked with Altria, Pepsi, and Campbell Soup at the start of my career. They all had one thing in common: Their sales programs were phenomenal. They taught me how to sell volume, new brands, and new items. Ultimately, they taught me how to sell ideas. However, at the time I was there, they lacked one thing: Negotiation training. Sales and negotiations are two different things. Selling is about the idea. Negotiations are the details that make the idea come to life. I could get people to buy into ideas, but getting them across the finish line was challenging. That’s why negotiation training is so impactful and important. It enables sales reps to bring deals across the finish line without having to offer tremendous discounts. Do you want this for your reps? Then, they need negotiation training and accountability. DM me, and let’s chat more about this. #NegotiationSkills #BusinessNegotiations

Thought for the Day: Celebrate the Wins "The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate." - Oprah Winfrey Today marks a significant milestone in a project at work. It’s taken us over a year to prepare for and multiple years before that leading up to this step. In practice, the change will be minor. There’s little risk and multiple contingency plans if something should go wrong. But the significance of the moment is huge. You could sense the heightened levels of energy the last week as the team ran through what was about to take place. We were all doing what we could to ensure that nothing was missed. The level of scrutiny from our leaders had reached hyperdrive. As we wrapped up our preparations and space opened up in our days. The meetings leading up to this milestone came off the calendars and were replaced with new meeting. Our time and focus quickly shifted to all the remaining work that is still to come (there’s a lot of it). In fact the majority of my thoughts this morning are not about the accomplishment in front of us, but about the next problem we need to solve. It’s on to the next thing because there’s always a next thing. There will always be another problem to solve or another milestone to strive for. Striving towards something has a ton of value and merit, but if we do that at the expense of celebrating the wins along the way we miss the point. Take time to celebrate when things are worth celebrating. Acknowledge the work that has been done before we move on to the next one.

Ask any sales or marketing professional… Launching new products and building new territories is not easy. Over a year ago my husband, Dean Peaple , joined this company to launch a new division of window coverings. Through operations and production challenges, changes in leadership and the minimal marketing support common with ‘startups’ - my husband never gave up! I have watched him be tenacious and creative, using common sense, guerilla tactics, and teamwork- always finding a way. I know the road is long, - and I admire my husbands patience and perseverance. When you work hard and see a reward with a Win like this- you have to celebrate! Most of us are so busy doing the work we do- we forget to take time to celebrate the wins. It’s as easy as 123… 1. Take a moment to reflect on your wins 2. Be proud of your accomplishments, 3. Share your gratitude with those that helped you achieve your goals. Celebrate the Wins!
And the 2024 People's Choice Award for Product(s) I Would Like in My Home goes to Rowley Company! Congrats!

Having just attended the awesome 2024 Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) Asset Protection and Safety conference, a few observations for our smaller, nascent, yet critically important solution providers who were represented virtually (i.e. by other exhibitors): If you are represented by another physically present provider (a booth), select your partnership carefully. By delegating your product offering, you're also delegating your brand, your image, and your yet-defined reputation. Rarely does one get a second chance at a reputation. All us retailers have baked opinions of legacy providers - good/bad, innovative/dark ages, gadget hustlers/frictionless, customer focused/cops-and-robbers focused, honest/shady, etc. Just because a solution provider is large, has a huge booth, or has been around "forever," doesn't mean they're viewed in high regard. As a career retailer, as I roam the gauntlet, everyone is understandably competing for 5 minutes of your time and the visuals are what catch my attention. If I don't immediately and powerfully see your brand, and for what business problem you're solving, I won't "see" you. I will smile, and walk on by. If I'm not a fan of your sponsoring company, I'll walk by. I don't care what else they may be selling. THEIR reputation is what matters. And if you only have 5 minutes, what do you think the rep in front of you is going to promote most aggressively (rhetorical)? Just like a wine, a life partner, or a tax advisor, choose carefully. My point - The retail risk-mitigation industry desperately needs fresh thought and true innovation. Don't risk your future to save a few bucks. Be present. #retail #retailtechnology ##retailleadership #ai #safety #lossprevention ##assetprotection #shrink #theft #ORC ##riskmitigation Walmart Kroger Meijer Target CVS Health Walgreens Best Buy The Home Depot Lowe's Companies, Inc.
