There's still time! Help us celebrate the start of the 2024-2025 grantmaking cycle on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at Eat Street Crossing. This year's 4th Generation grants will support Youth-Led Initiatives. Why Youth-Let Initiatives? Why not?! Young people bring fresh ideas and energy to the table, and they really get what’s going on in their communities. Youth-led initiatives are often where you’ll find the most creative solutions to social, economic, and environmental challenges. By backing young leaders working in the Twin Cities, we’re not just investing in the future; we're also making sure our efforts today are fair and inclusive. It's about equity — making sure everyone’s voice is heard and valued. Plus, when we support youth-led work, we’re helping build stronger, more connected communities for the long haul.

On International Volunteer Day, we celebrate the power of people who give their time, energy, and skills to create meaningful change in the world. Volunteers are the heart of communities, driving forward solutions to social, environmental, and economic challenges. Volunteering is about more than giving back... it’s about building connections, fostering equity, and creating impacts that ripple far beyond what we see. Whether you’re planting trees, mentoring youth, or using your skills to support equity-centered causes, your contributions matter. Together, we can build a future where every action creates a better tomorrow. 💚 #SustainableBusiness #SocialImpact #SmallBusiness #BusinessStrategy

To reach your goals, break them down into smaller subgoals. In research using framing to boost volunteering, The Wharton School Profs. Angela Duckworth, Katy Milkman and Marissa Sharif, and PhD alums Edward Chang and Aneesh Rai, found that focusing on a subgoal increased the amount of time volunteers spent helping by 7-8% over several months. The researchers indicate that while this impact may seem small, scaled across the volunteer systems, their intervention led to thousands more hours of volunteer work. Since founding Stack'd in 2015, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with remarkable NFPs (Not-for-Profits) across Alberta. These organizations, led by passionate and purpose-driven leaders, have been transforming their communities—and we’ve been honored to play a role in helping them create meaningful impact for their stakeholders. Over the years, we’ve supported NFPs in tackling some of their most significant opportunities and challenges, including: 1. Shaping new strategic directions and plans. 2. Reducing reliance on donor and grant funding by developing social enterprise strategies. 3. Redesigning organizational structures to maximize impact. 4. Merging like-minded organizations and supporting them with their post-merger integration efforts. 5. Enhancing leadership team health and effectiveness. We’re incredibly proud of the value we’ve helped create, but now, we’re taking it a step further. I’m excited to announce that we are making NFPs a core area of focus for our firm. This means dedicated resources, specialized service offerings, and an even greater commitment to helping these organizations thrive. Stay tuned for more updates as we build out our team and services tailored specifically to the NFP sector!
At Stack'd Consulting, we're passionate about more than just saying we support community builders and organizations — we're committed to being meaningful and deliberate in how we help those shaping our communities every day. Today, we're thrilled to announce an expanded commitment to Calgary's nonprofit social services sector, assisting these incredible organizations in amplifying their impact. Our focus is on partnering with bold leaders to push boundaries, rethink how they drive impact, address community needs differently, and strategically futureproof their organizations. We aim to create resilient futures for those leading the charge for change. We're excited for what's ahead and working with Alberta's community leaders and organizations to drive lasting, positive change across the province. Interested in learning more? Elevating Communities through Local Partnerships When we talk about partnerships, we’re not just referring to transactional relationships. True partnerships—particularly those at the local level—are about empowering communities to create sustainable change from within. We’ve seen firsthand the power of local collaboration in driving long-term solutions that address the specific needs of each community. The beauty of local partnerships is that they are deeply connected to the heartbeat of a community. They’re about understanding local challenges, leveraging local strengths, and co-creating solutions that are tailor-made to address the unique circumstances on the ground. Whether it’s a small nonprofit, a grassroots initiative, or a local government, we believe that the best solutions come from those who are closest to the problem. In our work, we emphasize not only building these local partnerships but nurturing them for the long term. This ensures that the impact we make is not just temporary, but lasting. Our mission is to empower communities to become self-sustaining by giving them the tools, knowledge, and resources they need to succeed. Have you been involved in local partnerships that have made a significant impact? What’s your experience with community-driven change? #LocalPartnerships #CommunityDriven #SustainableGrowth #Empowerment

All these reactions can come up when facing such intense, unpredictable problems and violence with a perceived lack of tested solutions or necessary effort to try them – and are a part of why we have not managed to course-correct quickly and effectively enough. So how can we find and hold hope together? Over the coming days we share some of the places we are finding hope and we invite you to share yours. We’ll focus on: Examples from history Our societal capacities to meet the challenge The agency of all of us to role to play a critical role (which we know how to unlock) Full Plymouth Octopus(POP) narrative: https://buff.ly/4dQZbD1 POP learning and thinking: https://buff.ly/4fZAcPG Dark Matter Labs @Annette https://buff.ly/3YSF4Ac Sky Space Team Development Cic @Jen https://buff.ly/3yMsPK #BEMOREPLYMOUTH #fairer #greener #futurism #regenerativefutures #learning #sharednarrative #plymouth #systemconvening #community #grassroots #funding #grantmaking
