Help them see how their role contributes to the bigger picture. 🖼 ▪ Set Expectations Clearly: Outline the training agenda, key takeaways, and next steps. How long should the ideal onboarding be for a newbie on your team? Aleksandra Porobic and I shared some thoughts on this in the video below! Onboardings should come in 2 parts; the company onboarding and the role-specific onboarding. The first week of onboarding would set the foundations for the second week which will include enablement on role-specific tasks. In addition to the onboarding you should also consider: 1. Pre-boarding: setting expectations for the onboarding before the employee begins work 2. Progress reviews: after onboarding, have regular check-in to monitor progress and identify any blockers along with getting feedback! #onboarding #enablement #omnipresent

Are you connecting with your new hires? When delivering an onboarding experience, are you as a trainer doing all you can to make sure they feel comfortable? Do they feel welcomed? Building a rapport with new hires is one of the best techniques to foster a positive learning environment. Keep in mind, this is potentially a make or break moment for them and the company they are coming to work for. If a new hire doesn't get that connection and feeling of comfortability, they miss an absolutely important step in the onboarding process. Chat with them. Talk about hobbies, interests, etc. Let them know they are important. Most of all, let them know you see them as people first. Let them know they aren't just an "asset".
