Your planners matter. They are the cornerstone to efficient, cost-effective operations. Yet many organisations don’t treat them well— 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐬: True planning requires hands-on experience. A planner isn't just an admin clerk but a game changer who brings technical insight and strategic foresight to the table. 𝐈𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: A good planner adds more value than an individual technician. Yet, their pay rarely reflects this, undermining the role's value and the incentive to strive in this career path. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: The planner role is seen as a dead end rather than a vital step towards supervisory positions. This perception not only devalues the role but also makes it a hard sell to potential candidates. If you really want to have a great planning & scheduling process… You can’t neglect your planners. That means you have to … →train and coach them →compensate them well →create a clear path for career advancement →give them the tools and authority they need to succeed Recognising and empowering your planners is not just about fairness— It's a strategic investment in the heart of your maintenance operations. Elevate your planners. And you elevate your entire maintenance and reliability. #maintenance #reliability #ReliabilityAcademy
