Misconception...Monday?!?! Are you ready - Misconception: Black cats are associated with bad luck and are at increased risk during Halloween. Reality: The belief that black cats bring bad luck and are more likely to be harmed during Halloween is a common misconception with no factual basis. Although some shelters limit black cat adoptions in October as a precaution, there is no evidence to suggest they are more vulnerable during this time. This misconception persists due to historical superstitions and media portrayals, but in reality, black cats face no greater danger around Halloween than at any other time of year. #HalloweenMyth #HalloweenTruth #WaterDamageRestoration #FireDamageCleanup Alejandro Restrepo Alexi Giantomidis Draško Šamara Jennifer Restrepo PuroClean of Wilton | Ridgefield PuroClean Stamford Business Network +

Recently, a business colleague of mine noted how I am involved in a number of activities. Real estate investment, development, advisory, supporting HBCUs, promoting mental health and spending time with my family. He questioned how I am able to do so much. The answer is that all of it relates to building community. The real estate portion is literally about building community. The other aspects, mental health and education for example, are about building up people within the community. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. As a Christian, some struggle to understand my connection with it. The answer is that it is about building community. Halloween gives us the opportunity to love our neighbors and connect with them. The best shopping centers to invest in our owns filled with tenants that deeply connected to their communities. Ideally, they are close to neighborhoods that are thriving due to their connections of people that care about each other. So with all of that in mind, Happy Halloween! Let’s leverage this holiday to build our communities. CrossMarc Services Crossman Career Builders #crossmarc #crossmancareerbuilders

**Giving Tuesday: A Moment for Radical Reverence** After the whirlwind of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s refreshing to take a step back and reflect on giving. Today, on Giving Tuesday, we’re inspired by one of Billie Dean’s core ideas: “What can I do for you?” Whether it’s a cat, a tree, or nature as a whole, this simple question shifts us from consuming to contributing, from self-focus to service. It embodies a spirit of radical reverence—the belief that every leaf, every pebble, every being is worthy of respect and care. This philosophy is why we started the Deep Peace Trust's farm animal and wild horse sanctuary: to make a tangible difference, one life at a time. We can’t change the world for every animal, but we can change the world for the ones we touch—and that matters. Today, we invite you to join us in fostering Deep Peace for all species. If our mission resonates with you, please consider contributing. Every gift, no matter the size, helps us create a kinder, more peaceful world. And as this busy season unfolds, we wish you deep peace and calm. 💛 You can support our work here: https://lnkd.in/gQVp7Z4Q #GivingTuesday #DeepPeaceTrust #RadicalReverence #AnimalSanctuary #PeaceForAllSpecies

It’s finally October! That means it's time for your church to bust out the fall decorations and get into the season’s spirit! That also means it's time to start planning your church’s Halloween event! Whether your church celebrates Halloween, Fall Festival, or some other autumnal event, we want you to have the best night possible! What is an awesome event your church can host for this end of October holiday? Well we have an idea we think you might really like… It’s called Trunk-or-Treat! - Instead of having families go around their neighborhoods trick-or-treating, all your church families can gather in your church’s parking lot to do something even better! - In a Trunk-or-Treat event, each family decorates their car and brings it to your parking lot. Then, everyone opens up their trunks and shows off their decorations while also handing out candy to kids who can go from car to car looking for treats. - It’s a safe and community-building alternative to trick-or-treating that is fun for the whole church! If you want, you can even add a theme to the event for the decorations and costumes like Disney movies, Bible stories, or anything else you can think of! Has your church tried a Trunk-or-Treat event? What other events work great for October celebrations? Let us know in the comments!

🎄 Leverage Your Holiday Events for Real Connection If you’re planning holiday events like a Fall Festival, Trunk or Treat, or Christmas bazaar, it’s time to make them count for more. My ask is simple—get contact information from your visitors. Whether it’s names, emails, or phone numbers, gather it all. Then, follow up to build relationships that last. One of the pastors in my Growing Church Network did just that and collected information from over 400 households! They used an enticing door prize 🎁 and made sure to follow up with personal invitations to every holiday event. The secret to success is consistent follow-up—from invitations to handwritten notes. This intentional step can transform how your church connects with the community. Let me know how it goes! 🙏 #effectivechurch #churchgrowth #pastors #church #HolidayOutreach #CommunityConnection #ChurchInvitations
