Earlier this year gabrielle mordy and Studio A artist Meagan Pelham did a brilliant job with their pitch at The Funding Network Australia Equity & Inclusion event, securing funding for an exciting major project for the studio.👏
Gabrielle shared some insights on the impact of her experience with TFN which you can check out in their recent blog post - 'In conversation with Gabrielle Mordy from Studio A'.
🎨 Creativity knows no limits. At Studio A, artists with intellectual disabilities are breaking boundaries and reshaping the art world. Support through TFN's Equity & Inclusion event in Sydney in May, helped Studio A create a landmark training guide and public art projects, showcasing their talent and vision.
gabrielle mordy, Artistic Director, highlights: “Storytelling is critical to the impact we have.” With this momentum, Studio A is set to inspire even more inclusion and creativity in 2025.
We look forward to seeing the transformative art and stories Studio A brings to life next year! 🖼️

One of the biggest challenges I find when trying to execute a vision is the barrier to tools, skills, or funding.
We all have ideas and some of which can change the way we do things and change the way we move through the world. We can be independent in our pursuit to create these projects, but when we work together we open ourselves to possibilities and ways to further express our ideas.
Angel Made Studio was created to help people bring their vision to life in a variety of mediums. Maybe you have a dream for a furniture line, an idea for custom jewelry, fashion items, or a short film. We work together to make the plan for the idea to come into reality and take the necessary steps with intentionality. Who we work with matters, how we create things matter.
Check out some of the previous work done by Angel Made Studio, and come into the new year bolder than ever. Together we can make amazing things.

Art is a reflection of the world—and the world is beautifully diverse.
Diversity in art means showcasing a wide range of voices, perspectives, and experiences. It’s about including artists from different cultures, ethnicities, genders, and backgrounds, as well as embracing various styles and mediums. It’s also about telling stories that don’t often get heard—stories from marginalized communities or perspectives that challenge the norm.
When art is diverse, it reflects the richness of the world we live in. It brings new ideas to the surface, sparks important conversations, and helps people see life through someone else’s eyes. Diversity in art isn’t just about representation; it’s about creating a space where everyone can feel seen, valued, and connected.

October 25th marks International Artist Day, National Fine Art Appreciation Day, and the birthday of Pablo Picasso—a perfect time to celebrate the arts and all they bring to our communities.
As the CEO of Coastal Horizon Financial Solutions with a background in the arts, I know that creativity isn’t just self-expression; it’s a way to connect, inspire, and make a real difference.
Art strengthens community ties by providing a platform for voices and stories that bring us together. It’s a chance to flex our creative side, support local artists, and even invest in causes that nurture creativity and inclusivity.
By embracing the arts, we contribute to a thriving, hopeful community that values growth, imagination, and connection. Art brings dreams to life and opens the door to deeper understanding across generations.
Whether visiting a gallery, picking up a paintbrush, or supporting a local artist, let’s flex our appreciation for creativity and community impact.
How will you support or celebrate the arts?

Artwork is Real Work!
Arts workers are major contributors to California’s economy, culture, and community well-being. Yet there are few to no social protections for artists to thrive as a workforce. An artist's work is not seen as labor and more often than not is misconceived as a luxury or a pastime.
Artists are bringing solutions to health and climate change. They are trusted messengers across government departments such as the Environmental Protection Agency and Housing and Urban Development, helping leverage resources to communities. Artists also run creative businesses and not only boost local economies but also provide vital space for community building and civic engagement.
Artists deserve conditions to thrive and need to be legitimized as a workforce and industry.

Empowering Communities through Art: A Toolkit for Embedded Artistic Practice
At coLAB Arts, we are deeply committed to the belief that the arts are essential in building stronger, more connected communities. Lane Michael Stanley was in residence this past year with permanent supportive housing organization Mission First Housing Group and has a fresh take on outlining a critical framework for how artists can embed themselves within communities to foster collaboration, connection, and meaningful impact.
Community-embedded artistic practice is not just about creating art for an audience, but rather with the community—elevating shared stories and ensuring that every voice has the opportunity to be heard. The strategies discussed in this toolkit offer valuable insights for artists and community leaders looking to drive change through creative collaboration. Even if that means offering snacks and a place to charge a phone.
Bravo Lane. We hope others are encouraged to consider this approach and how these practices can further engage and strengthen the communities we serve.

💌🖼️ Welcoming Walls: The Myth of 'Invite-Only' Galleries
The misconception that galleries are exclusive 'invite-only' spaces is a barrier we are determined to break. Here's how galleries can become beacons of inclusivity: #BreakingBarriers#EveryoneWelcome
🌟 Our strategy includes:
* Regularly scheduled community events that are free and open to the public, advertised widely across social and local media.
* Creating partnerships with cultural and youth organizations to diversify the audience and artist representation.
* Promoting a 'come as you are' atmosphere, where casual attire is as welcome as formal wear.
Watch as we transform galleries into places where everyone feels at home, regardless of their background or experience with art.

🚀 Celebrating the Evolution of the Black Digital Art Collective (BDAC) 🚀
Building and scaling the Black Digital Art Collective (BDAC) fills me with immense gratitude and pride. What began as an idea incubated within a16z Cultural Leadership Fund (CLF), alongside my 1st intern and forever collaborator Lance Davis, has transformed into a groundbreaking platform that uplifts and empowers Black creatives at the intersection of art, culture, and technology.
From curating our first cohort of innovative artists to partnering with
Black@—now Catalyst Labs—as the nonprofit steward for BDAC, we’ve built a foundation that champions Black brilliance and cultural sovereignty. Together with BDAC’s DAO members, we’ve created a platform where Black creativity and innovation thrive, redefining the future of art and technology.
Last week, we reached a monumental milestone with The Black Immediate, BDAC’s first independent exhibition at Art Basel Miami Beach. This event was more than an art showcase—it was a powerful celebration of Black identity, cultural heritage, and technological innovation.
✨ Highlights from The Black Immediate ✨
We were honored to feature stunning works from:
🎨 Prince Gyasi– The Power of Choice (2024)
A striking exploration of power and agency through photography.
🎨 Ambrose Rhapsody Murray – Misty Blues I and II (2021)
Layered narratives that honor heritage through oil, hand-dyed silk, and vintage kantha quilts.
🎨 Qualeasha Wood @Qualeasha Wood – AFK (2023)
A woven jacquard masterpiece bridging the digital and physical realms of Black identity.
🎨 William Mapan – Strands of Solitude #233
A digital meditation on connection and isolation in the age of technology.
🎨 Keion Kopper – Digital Graffiti #99 NFT & Fossil Series (2024)
Created during his time in the Civitai AIR program, this striking body of work explores themes of temporality and materiality. The Fossil Series, including four pieces titled Skull Chromite, blends organic forms with digital aesthetics to redefine contemporary art.
This evening also marked the launch of the Project Dream AI Filmmaking Fellowship (ThinkDiffusion), breaking systemic barriers in filmmaking and empowering underrepresented voices.
✨ Special Thanks ✨
To our incredible partners Flow, Civitai, ThinkDiffusion, Ten To One Rum, Casa Del Sol Tequila (Desiree Ansari), Chef Rose, and many others—you made this night unforgettable.
To the amazing BDAC Basel Queens Shondra Washington, Temilayo Butler, MPS, Sunserae S. and the sheer existence of art—your brilliance and creativity light the path forward. ♾️ 🩵
This is just the beginning. Together, we are building a legacy where creativity, innovation, and Black excellence lead the way.
Let’s connect, collaborate, and make 2025 a year to remember!

Championing women artists, SLQS opened its doors last night with the exhibition "A Landscape of Chance."
If you're in London this weekend, check it out. Follow the link for more info on the thought-provoking works in textile and sculpture that examine our connection to the natural world in the digital age. From questioning human individuality to creating new ecologies, the artists in this show offer a unique perspective on our place in the ecosystem.
From the press release:
"Through the mediums of textile and sculpture, the artists included in 'A Landscape of Chance' explore human’s connection and impact with botanical life and the broader natural world in the digital era. Human bodily materiality and individuality is questioned, new organisms and ecologies are created. Seeds entangled with synthetics expose humanity’s impact on the ecosystem and our interconnectedness with all beings. Speculative futures contemplate fluid boundaries between matter, life and technology. Vietnamese miniature landscapes reveal exoticisation and tourism nature appropriation. Past, present and future environments collide, distort and transform."
SLQS, founded by Sarah Le Quang Sang, is on a mission to champion women artists and their invaluable contributions to the art world. Through a diverse program of exhibitions, online screenings, and knowledge-sharing events, SLQS aims to create a space where artists, collectors, institutions, and thinkers can unite to celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusivity.

Discover the Art of Resilience with Adversatile Artists: Where Adversity Meets Versatility 🎨🚀
Unveiling the visionary work of AURA-KL, a multifaceted creative force from Newham, London. His journey—shaped by the poetic rhythms of rap, the dynamic world of filmmaking, and the bold strokes of art direction—has led to "Footprints: Step One" and recognition as a torchbearer for emerging cinematographers and black creatives.
Adversatile Artists (AvA), founded amidst the global shift of 2020, is a testament to turning adversity into opportunity. With the launch of the trailblazing "HEIR" album and the luxe "HEIR Collection," AvA has become a beacon of hope and transformation.
Our mission transcends the arts. It's about nurturing a community, providing a lifeline to those with the lived experience of homelessness, and valorizing neurodiversity as a catalyst for business innovation. As we develop our Sustainable Fashion collection, we're redefining inclusivity and resilience.
Join us on our journey to establish AvA as a Social Enterprise. We're forging partnerships, crafting media narratives, and creating a space where the misunderstood find understanding and the displaced find direction.
AvA is poised to roll out workshops led by Jordan himself, tailored for those who've endured homelessness, equipping them with formal skills and a conduit to the commercial realm.
Connect with us to be part of a movement where creativity empowers, educates, and elevates. Let's weave social responsibility into the fabric of business, one partnership at a time.
