If you’ve written a book, you know this is true. 😅 Your book becomes your second business. Prepare to put in sweat, dollars, and a lot of your time. 💪 I was having a conversation with my friend @estherfedd recently and she brought up this idea of a "launch season" for your book... Lots of aspiring authors think < launch season >> is just a few weeks long, but Esther explained it’s actually about a year long! It starts with pre-sales 6 months before your book’s publication date and continues for 6 months after the book is released. During this time, you need to keep the momentum going and continue promoting your book. And then you need to ~ continue ~ talking about the key themes and messages in your book for YEARS to come. ☀ Is there a business book that radically improved your life? 📗 I have 28 business books on my office shelf, and more in storage. 📚 📚 📦 But the one that stands out is one that I bought and read in university. It changed the course of my life. It's called, "Creativity in Business," by Michael Ray and Rochelle Myers. Published in 1989 by DoubleDay, it absolutely stands the test of time. This book inspired me to put creativity and innovation into everything I did, all my jobs, businesses, and my whole approach to life. I even turned one of their phrases into a mantra that I used for years - "Easy, effortless and enjoyable." I don't even remember why. 🤔 I never read it again, but it's still right here on my shelf after 30+ years and 15+ moves.... ▶ This is the power of a book. Is there a business book that inspired you? Some news about my book, Focusing On Expense Loss. Nothing major, but I needed to change a word in the book that has bothered me for some time. I had a curse word in the book, and while people said don't worry and it does not matter, I decided to remove the word and replace it with a kinder word. I also reduced the price. In about a week or two, Amazon, Bookbaby, and other avenues will have the edited book, and in a couple of days the revised list price of $14.95. Thank you to everyone who has read my book and offered their review considerations, and I hope more of my connections will consider the purchase.
