Real-time payment methods (RTPs), like UPI in India, Pix in Brazil or Swish in Sweden, have sprouted up around the world—transforming the way hundreds of millions of people pay for things every day. But payments are deeply embedded in the social fabric of a country, and new ones don’t typically take hold overnight. Why have RTPs suddenly seen such uptake? We unpack this shift in the first in a three part series on the rise, evolution and future of real-time payments. Read on for more! https://lnkd.in/ernA5vtZ
Do we see a potential of RTPs across countries start talking to each other, thereby making international transactions swifter, faster and possibly cheaper as well.
What an excellent article Marisa Rama
It has been more than a month now, since our company's fund is stuck in stripe portal, I have sent tons of emails, but the stripe team has been unresponsive now, can you help us to escalate this issue to the concern team, because stripe doesn't have dedicated customer handling team. We have already lost our client due to the inconvenience caused by stripe.
Real-time payments are truly transformative, and the future of technolgy. Also, love the illustrastive design wuth the isometric view/angle.—well done Stripe! 👏
This is a fascinating exploration, Marisa Rama . Your insights into the global evolution of real-time payments are incredibly relevant, especially as they reshape financial interactions across diverse cultures. Looking forward to reading the entire series. Great work! Stripe

2wGreat article! We have been implementing RTPs since 10 years and have about 100+ connected and ready for local payouts. The first wave of RTPs started long time ago but what we see now is an acceleration of new systems being built (mainly to decrease dependency of the US based systems like Swift, Visa or MC - you have seen what happened in Russia)… There will be many more to come and they will be all regionally interconnected. This is one of the most interesting spaces to watch and invest right now (if you are a payments nerd 🤓)
