Could the Mid West's mix of solar, wind and gas be a low cost, low carbon solution for energy hungry data centres? We think so, and we're not the only ones, according to The Australian Financial Review. “Data centres need to work during the night when there’s no sun, and the batteries don’t last long enough. So I think having that energy mix would be quite interesting,” says David Yuile, a key figure in digital infrastructure for two decades and managing director of Lanrik Partners. Federal Resources Minister Madeleine King, who toured our Walyering facility this week, also sees the potential. “This is certainly worth pursuing, no doubt about it. When you have affordable and accessible supply of energy sources like renewable, which can be backed up by gas, that attracts industries of all sorts.” Strike's landholding in the MidWest sits in the heart of our Perth Basin #gas resources, and is in a great position to integrate with the region's wind and solar energy resources. US tech giants already made (an obvious) choice of nuclear energy for the Data Centers. There is no alternative to gas in the backwater Down Under that enshrined ban on use of nuclear energy in its constitution

We would been keen to talk. We are metacorp developments - we specialise in modular data based currently on renewables. We currently effectively run modular data sites in Victoria and WA with Biogas and wind power. Our first modular experiment was at a solar farm in the wheatbelt. We have a current site in the midwest and are currently expanding. We are keen to speak with Strike and examine any potential collaboration.

I think it will be a gas power electricity plant that occasionally when the sun and wind can provide power support gas. The quicker this renewables energy scam is stopped the better for everyone.

It would be great if the Weatern Australian government hadn’t given permission to sell off all the gas produced to the international market. Now WA government will be buying back our own gas to supply power to the domestic market at international prices…
