[Photo/VCG] The 21st China-ASEAN Expo opened on Tuesday in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. As a key node for regional economic ties, the expo not only witnessed a steady growth in the volume of bilateral trade, but also highlighted the vigorous development vitality and unlimited potential of the China-ASEAN market, Xinhua reported on Thursday. About 2,000 enterprises participated in the main exhibition area of the expo this year, with over 800 enterprises from ASEAN countries and others, accounting for over 41 percent of the total. Trade and investment between China and ASEAN countries have grown exponentially since the first expo, and they have become each other's biggest trading partners today. Our experience in Vilnius was truly remarkable! We had the pleasure of participating in the AmChams Pan-Baltic Conference 2024, "Strengthening Ties—Fostering Economic Resilience and Collaboration". The conference brought together more than 100 participants from Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia to discuss pressing issues such as investing in healthcare, cybersecurity risks and threats in the Baltics, digital transformation and AI, and attracting new investment. The conference left us with a sense of confidence that the Baltic countries are now stronger than ever. Their focus, unity behind common goals, vigilance, and readiness for action were evident throughout the two days. “The availability of human capital is essential to maintaining economic security and fostering growth. Sustainable and predictable investment in health care is closely linked to improving health outcomes and preserving human capital, especially in times of crisis and adverse demographic shifts. While defense is undeniably important, public health is even more critical. Healthy people are the true defense of a nation.
