It’s moments like these that remind me why I’m so excited about the future!! ✨ Yesterday, I attended an E-Cell event with IIT Bombay and left feeling inspired and full of ideas. I got to hear from Govind Mundhra sir, whose insights on the world and how it works got me thinking on a whole new level. Grateful for the experiences that push me to think bigger and to see problems as opportunities. But what made the day unforgettable was meeting so many young startup founders mainly Shwetansh Singh and Abhishek Kumar Chauhan. Each with their own story, each with an unstoppable drive. Their perspectives on life, work, and growth were so refreshing, and their passion is exactly the kind of drive I want to carry forward. The story of Delhi College of Engineering, now Delhi Technological University has been an awe inspiring one. The institute started as Delhi Polytechnic in 1941, has been an “academic incubator” of several academic institutions such as IIT Delhi, School of Planning and Architecture, Faculty of Management Studies among others. In relative terms the impact of this institution has been much much higher than several premier, hugely funded institutions of national eminence, if we compare the amount of funds that these institutions receive vis a vis what DCE-DTU has been receiving. It only speaks volumes about the teacher-taught combine and the work ethics that this institute has been following for more than eight decades; it has been producing quality product year after year, making a distinct contribution to the national and global work force. Occupying eighth position amongst the institutes that have produced Unicorn startup founders is yet another attestation of the role that the institution has been playing in nation building and contributing to economic well-being of the country. It’s a matter of great pride for all who have been associated with DCE-DTU in any form to celebrate this great accomplishment. Given the enthusiasm that exists amongst the students, faculty and staff members associated with DTU Institute Innovation Foundation and the increase in the number of initiatives for start-up activities, we are sure in coming times this rank is going to further improve. Salautation to teachers, alumni and students for making this happen.
