🌍 Happy World Soil Day! 🌱 Did you know that restoring forests helps to improve soil quality? This is important because: 1️⃣ Soil supports biodiversity: One teaspoon of soil can contain more microorganisms than people on Earth! 🐛 2️⃣ Soil stores carbon: Healthy soil stores carbon, making it a powerful ally in the fight against climate change. 🌎 3️⃣ Soil filters and cleans water: Soil plays an important role in the hydrologic cycle. 💧 4️⃣ Tree roots improve soil structure: This reduces nutrient loss by limiting leaching, erosion, and runoff. 🌳 5️⃣ Healthy soil creates healthy plants: Making plants less vulnerable to pests and disease. 🌾 #WorldSoilDay #HealthySoil #ForestRestoration #ClimateAction

The Cooling Superpower of a TREE🍃🍀🌬️ DID YOU KNOW! That trees are Nature’s Air Conditioners?!😱 Here are some fun facts about a tree🥳 Trees act as natural air conditioners, using water and sunlight to cool themselves and their surroundings, making them essential for maintaining comfortable environments and combating the effects of climate change. Trees absorb water from the soil through their roots. This water then travels up through the tree and is released through tiny pores called stomata on the surface of the leaves. Once the water reaches the leaves, it evaporates into the air, similar to how sweat evaporates from our skin. This process requires energy, which is drawn from the surrounding environment, thereby cooling both the tree and its immediate surroundings. Aside from this, trees provide shade, which reduces the amount of direct sunlight that reaches the ground. This helps lower temperatures in the shaded area, creating a cooler microclimate. Amazing right?!😇 The combined effects of transpiration and shading can significantly reduce temperatures in urban areas, where heat buildup due to buildings and pavement (the urban heat island effect) can lead to uncomfortably high temperatures. Trees help mitigate this effect by cooling the air and providing shade. Amazing how much one tree has a huge impact on humans and the environment! So let’s get right in forks and save that tree🤝 Reduce on deforestation and increase on Reafrostation🙌🏽 the tree needs 🫵 #endclimatechange #climatechangesolutions #enddeforestation #enviromentalsustainability

Did you know that almost 1 out of every 2 drops of rain fall on land thanks to trees? On average, 40%-50% or more of the precipitation over land originates from evaporation and the transpiration of water from vegetation. Forests like the Amazon don’t merely grow in wet areas; they create and maintain the conditions in which they grow by increasing rainfall and reducing the length of the dry season. Trees and forests increase rainfall intensity through the fungal spores, pollen, bacterial cells and other particles they release into the atmosphere. Atmospheric moisture condenses when the air becomes sufficiently saturated with water and does so much more readily when these particles are present. When vegetation gets cleared, wet seasons come later, and less water is available in the landscape for evaporation and transpiration, suppressing precipitation. The only way to create a healthy climate is by planting more (food) trees

Why is there so much "noise' about #ClimateChange? Two things. First, food. Second, money. Every day, the sun, which is the main source of earth’s energy, emits rays of light to the earth surface. The earth absorbs part of the heat from the rays and reflects a large part into the atmosphere. Some of the rays reflected into the atmosphere are infrared rays. These rays are cushioned by the clouds and water vapor which stabilizes the earth’s temperature keeping it warm enough to sustain life. It shouldn't be easy to forget that every single day, there's an increase in the number of humans on earth. How, then, do we feed every member of the growing population a healthy diet without exploiting the environment? #ClimateAction #FoodSecurity #Environment #Agriculture

What is the biotic pump? ⬇️ The fascinating concept of the biotic pump showcases how forests act as pivotal climate regulators. Through the process of water transpiration, trees draw moisture from the soil and release it in the form of water vapor, known as evaporation, into the atmosphere. This moisture rises through the canopy and begins cooling as it ascends into the atmosphere. As the air cools, it loses its ability to hold moisture and condenses to form clouds. These clouds, heavy with water, drive wind across the environment, replacing moist air from coastal regions or even oceans. This creates a cycle that promotes rainfall patterns and atmospheric circulation, ultimatiely regulating the weather patterns. Consistent rainfall regulates tempuratures, sustains life and promotes new growth. This mechanism not only sustains forests, but extends to regional areas, highlighting the critical role of urban parks and vegetation in maintaining a balanced climate system. #EcosystemRestoration #BioticPump #Reforestation #greenplanet #RestoreOurPlanet #climateactionnow #Watercycle
