'I make 300+ decisions every day. How do I know which ones actually matter?' This question from a SME CEO hit home. Decision fatigue isn't just about being tired - it's about losing your strategic edge. Research shows our decision-making ability deteriorates with each choice we make. Yet, as leaders, we often pride ourselves on being the final say on everything. Here's what transformed my client's approach: 👉 Create three decision buckets: ✅ Strategic (affects 3+ year outlook) ✅ Tactical (affects 1-year goals) ✅ Operational (affects monthly targets) 👉 Then the game-changer: Delegate everything in bucket 3, most of bucket 2, and focus your energy on bucket 1. His result? 70% fewer decisions, 100% more clarity. How are you auditing your decision load? — Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost it to your network and follow Simone Olbert for more.

Most leaders measure the wrong things. They track everything but don’t know what’s really driving success. Here’s the key: You don’t need more KPIs—you need the right ones. If I add 20 ingredients at once, how do I know which one is driving the change? ☑ Start with the end in mind. ↳ What’s the desired result? Define it first, then work backwards. ☑ Track the right inputs. ↳ What are you doing to drive that outcome? Be clear on which inputs matter most. ☑ Isolate the variables. ↳ Too often, people try to change everything at once. But when you tweak 20 things at the same time, you can’t tell what’s really moving the needle. ☑ Test in small increments. ↳ Make small changes, measure results, then iterate. Don’t rush the process. High performance is about consistency and precision. Measure what matters, and build your results layer by layer. Are you isolating the right variables in your approach?

Great leaders don't "change" with the times. They anticipate change. The evolution of technology. The shift in customer demand. The rise of new competitors. These are all happening, right now. So how do you prepare? 1. Surround yourself with people who challenge your thinking. 2. Look at trends outside your industry. 3. Focus on the end goal, not just the next quarter. 4. Be willing to take calculated risks. 5. Move fast and adapt. Anticipate change before it happens, and you'll always be ahead of the curve. The future belongs to those who anticipate it. — Enjoy this? ♻️ Repost if you agree and follow me for more.

Very recognisable, Ali. In my experience, this challenge with strategy often starts with a misunderstanding of what strategy actually is. While it is not a goal, plan or vision, it is often confused with it. It is simply a coherent set of choices about how an organisation creates value and wants to occupy a unique position in the market. We see that clear choices are often lacking, for instance due to a culture of compromise or wanting to keep too many options open. But if the understanding of strategy is not clear and clear choices are not made, how can we expect the organisation to understand and implement strategy?

Your beautiful strategy is worthless. Harsh? Maybe. But here's the brutal truth: Only 14% of employees understand the organization’s strategy and less than 10% successfully execute it (Metrus Group). The pattern is deadly: ↳ Beautiful strategy deck created ↳ Leadership team aligned and big communication push ↳ 6 months later... nothing's changed While you celebrate your strategy, your teams silently suffer: ↳ Misaligned actions ↳ Confused decision owners ↳ Blocked information flow The cost? Millions in wasted resources and missed opportunities. Real strategy execution looks like: ✅ Actions and incentives align with strategy ✅ Everyone knows exactly which decisions they own ✅ Frontline employees understand their strategic impact Most leaders have a strategy. Few achieve results. Ready for a reality check? I am working with a few strategy leaders to finalize a FREE tool to give business leaders a simple and honest view of their strategy execution gaps. I am seeking feedback on it. Want a sneak peek? Send me a DM and I will fill you in.
