Airlines these days are riding high on the sustainability wave, and technical maintenance records not only create a lot of #paperwaste but are also, bulky. Hence airlines are resorting to replacing weighty technical log-books with new e-technical records (digitized record) systems. There are even a few airlines and MROs that have adopted e-task cards. Techlogs and word orders constitute some of the most critical aircraft records. However, there are many other types of records such as NRCs, Shop Visit Reports, Supplemental type certificates, Burn Certificates among hundreds of other types of digital documents/dirty finger prints (DFPs from MRO operations). StatValu - Aircraft records automation's ArDocuExpert is a revolutionary software solution that completely digitalises all the technical maintenance records. Furthermore, it automatically structures (#IATA-compliant) records that are needed for both regulatory purposes (which is the focus of aircraft operators) and lease agreement terms and conditions (which is the focus of lessors). The process is smooth, as airlines plan to roll out #ArDocuExpert across its entire fleet, the #airline will naturally reduce a lot of operational waste and in turn save tons of sheets of paper from being printed and stored inefficiently each day, with every minor repair to a major aircraft overhaul. A one-stop- solution for scanning and automatically structuring of any physical papers/digital documents produced during #MROoperations enables airlines to ensure structured storage of records for satisfying both regulatory records storage requirements, ARC reviews and lessor’s end-of-lease (EOL) records requirements. Apart from helping the airline reduce its carbon footprint, ARDocuExpert will streamline the maintenance process for #flightcrew, #cabincrew, and engineering thus ensuring efficiency in the maintenance productivity. With real-time maintenance record updates, the brand-new #ArDocuExpert will aid the airline with few ground delays, faster turnaround times, and reduced aircraft maintenance times to enable greater availability and overall #costsavings. We’re clarifying the difference between these two key terms in the aviation industry, that often are getting confused with each other. Overhaul and Serviceable both relate to the condition and maintenance of aircraft parts, but they represent different stages of the maintenance process. 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗵𝗮𝘂𝗹 refers to a comprehensive and detailed process where a part is taken completely apart, inspected, repaired, and reassembled to meet the original specifications. During an overhaul, every component is checked for wear and tear, and any defective parts are replaced or repaired. The goal is to restore the part to a condition that is as close to new as possible. Overhauled parts undergo rigorous testing to ensure they perform like new and comply with all regulatory standards. This process ensures maximum reliability and extends the lifespan of the aircraft component. 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, on the other hand, indicates that a part is in a condition fit for use but does not necessarily mean it has been overhauled. A serviceable part has been inspected and determined to be safe and functional, meeting the necessary standards to be installed and used on an aircraft. However, it may have some wear and tear or have been repaired without the complete disassembly and restoration process involved in an overhaul. Serviceable parts are still reliable and meet all safety and performance requirements, but they haven’t undergone the exhaustive refurbishment process that overhauled parts have. Understanding the difference between these two terms is crucial in the aviation industry, as it impacts maintenance decisions and cost considerations. Overhauled parts, being restored to like-new condition, can be more expensive but offer extended reliability. Serviceable parts, while still meeting necessary safety standards, provide a cost-effective alternative for keeping aircraft operational. At Catisa Aviation, we support both needs by providing a wide range of overhauled and serviceable parts. We don't pick favourites but we always pick safety and efficiency✈️ #Aviation #Overhaul #Serviceable #AircraftMaintenance #AviationSafety #AviationInnovation

Hard Time Items: The Ticking Clock of Aircraft Leasing The aircraft you see is largely a fuselage, but to make the aircraft function is a vast array of components, each playing a role in operation. Among these components are the "hard time" items, also known as time-controlled components or TCI. These parts have a predetermined serviceable lifespan, measured in flight hours, cycles, or calendar time, after which they must undergo mandatory maintenance tasks. Why Hard Time Items Matter in Leasing Lessors and lessees must meticulously track and manage these components to ensure compliance with aviation regulations and maintain the aircraft's value. Any oversight or lapse in maintenance can lead to costly consequences, including grounded aircraft, lease disputes, and potential safety hazards. The AMP Connection: The Blueprint for Maintenance The Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) serves as the guiding document for managing hard time items. It outlines the specific maintenance tasks, intervals, and procedures required that we then apply for each component, ensuring its continued airworthiness throughout its operational life. Tracking and Compliance: We rely on tracking to ensure that hard time items are maintained in accordance with the AMP. This involves monitoring flight hours, cycles, and calendar time, and scheduling maintenance or replacement as required. One entry in an AMP can affect multiple items, for example slide overhauls can apply one task in the AMP to may items on the aircraft so checking and cross checking can become complex. Certificate of Release to Service (CRS): Each hard time item that undergoes maintenance or replacement is accompanied by a CRS, such as an FAA 8130-3 or EASA Form 1. These certificates provide information including the last required action performed. Lease Agreement Compliance: Lessors and lessees must carefully review lease agreements to ensure that maintenance and replacement of hard time items are carried out in accordance with the agreed-upon terms. Airworthiness Directives (ADs): ADs are mandatory instructions issued by aviation authorities to address safety issues. We must comply with any ADs that impact hard time items as reduced life on a specific part number or serial number range can impact and reduce life for a component over the AMP.
