Last night at The Boost Pad, we had a powerful discussion on Entrepreneurial Mental Health. Thank you Tameka Brewington you knocked it out of the park. It got me thinking about a recent insight from my friend, Mac Lackey when he shared a thought-provoking perspective on the startup mentality: “By choosing to hustle and grind, you’re making a huge tradeoff—likely sacrificing the things that matter most: your family, your health, your happiness. People will say, 'Something has to give… but it’ll be worth it in the end.' I’m here to tell you, they’re wrong. The most powerful word in your entrepreneurial journey isn’t 'sacrifice.' It is the word AND.” This concept is a game-changer! Building your business AND getting incredibly fit. Impacting the world AND being present for your family. Building wealth AND traveling the world. Being home for dinner AND scaling your company. So often, we hear that we must choose one path over another: Your family OR your business. Your health OR your wealth. But what if we reframe this? What if we strive for AND instead? It’s time to challenge the hustle-and-grind mentality that can lead to burnout, regret and depression. Let’s redefine success on our own terms and prioritize holistic well-being while pursuing our entrepreneurial dreams. Thank you, Mac, for sharing this valuable insight and Tameka for your continued support. Let’s continue building fulfilling lives, both personally and professionally! #maclackey #theboostpad #cohort9 #bipocbusiness #beyourownboss #theboostpadcohort #bipoc #entrepreneruialmentalhealth

Endeavor Brasil’s study showed that 54% of entrepreneurs consider discussions around mental health a taboo topic in the ecosystem. We are changing this! 🙌 I’m grateful to Refresh Miami for supporting me in eliminating the stigma around mental health discussions and providing me with the space to bring more awareness to this topic. 🔗 Read the article: https://lnkd.in/eyFT7Etj Mental health is often overlooked in the entrepreneurial world, even though it plays a significant role in the success and quality of an entrepreneur and their startups. Our goal at Endeavor Miami is to remind and encourage our entrepreneurs to focus on the well-being of themselves and the key people in their companies. By promoting a culture that values work-life balance and encouraging open conversations about mental health, we can create a more supportive environment for our entrepreneurs. Mental health should be spoken about every day, not just today, on #WorldMentalHealthDay 🧠 That’s why within The Virgin StartUp Community we're proud to partner with Self Space, offering our community access to affordable 1-1 mental maintenance sessions. Self Space are really on a mission to debunk the stigma and make mental health support more accessible, by featuring on the high street. At Virgin StartUp, we had the pleasure of hearing from founder Chance Marshall who shared his journey of building a startup dedicated to improving others' well-being. If you’re looking for a mental break today, tune into his story on our podcast—it’s 45 minutes well spent. (popping the link below). It was also great to chat to the team at #ANDYSMANCLUB this week to hear more about the incredible support they offer all across the UK. If you don't know much about what they do, ANDYSMANCLUB run peer-to-peer support groups for men over 18 going through storms in their lives, every Monday at 7pm excluding bank holidays. Groups are free to attend with no registration required. With over 200 locations nationwide, they're really on a mission to support as many men as possible 🙌 There are some incredible support networks out there; it’s just a matter of knowing where to look. Being a founder can feel pretty isolating sometimes, with the focus always on the business rather than on yourself. Hopefully, the resources mentioned above can help ease things a bit for some of my network this week. And, if you’re looking for a community that truly understands the ups and downs of founder life, you know where to find us ❤️.
Changemakers: Chance Marshall, co-founder of Self Space
