The holidays are a time for joy and celebration, but it’s also important to stay vigilant and prioritize safety. 🎄✨ Here are some tips to help keep you, your loved ones, and your belongings secure this season: 1️⃣ Lock It Up: Always lock doors and windows when leaving home, even for a short time. Use a timer for lights to make your home appear occupied. 2️⃣ Guard Your Gifts: Keep valuables and gifts out of sight from windows to avoid attracting unwanted attention. 3️⃣ Be Cyber Smart: Watch out for phishing scams and ensure online shopping is done through secure websites. Monitor your accounts for any unusual activity. 4️⃣ Travel Safely: If traveling, avoid announcing plans on social media and ask a trusted neighbor to keep an eye on your home. 5️⃣ Stay Alert While Shopping: Be aware of your surroundings in parking lots and never leave purchases unattended in your car. 6️⃣ Check for Scams: Verify charities before donating and steer clear of deals that seem too good to be true. At St. Moritz Security Services, Inc., your safety is our priority. ⚠️ In light of the recent flooding in our area, we want to remind everyone to stay vigilant against potential scams. ⚠️ Unfortunately, during times of crisis, there are individuals who attempt to exploit the situation by sending fraudulent emails and messages, asking for donations to disaster relief efforts. Please be cautious and follow these guidelines to protect yourself and our organization: ✅Verify the Source: Only donate to reputable organizations. If you receive an email or message asking for donations, verify its authenticity before taking any action. 🚩Look for Red Flags: Be wary of unsolicited emails, especially those that create a sense of urgency or ask for personal information. 💻Do Not Click on Suspicious Links: Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown or untrusted sources. 📩Report Suspicious Activity: If you receive any suspicious emails or messages, report them to our team or your cyber security department immediately. Your safety and security are our top priority. Let's work together to ensure that we do not fall victim to these scams. #HurricaneHelene #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #HurricaneRelief #DisasterRelief

Cyber Christmas Day 7 🎄 This video is a little different. Wayne Rambo Groves, a local 'hero' talks about his own charity. The Red Bench Project. This video made a few people in our office tearful. The Red Bench Project is a mental health awareness charity dedicated to suicide prevention. Over the past two years, they’ve placed Red Benches in suicide hotspots, creating a silent way for people to ask for help. Each bench includes information about resources and support services. If you ever see someone sitting on a red bench, we encourage you to say hello. A simple interaction could make a life-saving difference. Wayne knows of at least four lives that have been saved because of a red bench—and likely, there are more untold stories out there. We think this is a fantastic cause. Thank you to the Advanced Manufacturing Forum for nominating The Red Bench Project in our Cyber Christmas campaign. Wayne, it was lovely to meet you, it’s an honour to support your work, and we look forward to continuing to help in the future. Cyber Christmas Day 10 🎄 Today, it’s all about our incredible Finance Director, Louise Potts! Spoiler alert: there’s a special guest appearance by a very cute dog—meet Harry! 🐶 Louise plays a vital role at ITC Service, managing everything from daily finances and invoicing to setting up agreements and much more. She’s always on the go! What you might not know about Louise is her deep love for animals. That’s why she’s chosen to donate to PAWZ FOR THOUGHT, an amazing charity dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals in need. Their dedicated team of volunteers works tirelessly to help animals across the region. Louise’s own dog, Harry, is a rescue with a heartwarming story. When Louise first brought him home, Harry was a deeply anxious dog who had given up on life. Today, thanks to her care and love, Harry is thriving—enjoying long walks, delicious meals, and the safety of a loving home. 💡 Cyber Security Tip of the Day: Did you know that forcing frequent password changes can often lead to users storing them in insecure ways—like sticky notes or unencrypted files? This increases the risk of a breach. Instead, we recommend businesses invest in strong password management solutions. These tools can generate, store, and securely share complex passwords while providing alerts if a breach occurs, helping you take immediate action. Over the past few weeks, we’ve loved hearing from our clients about the causes they’re passionate about. Many of you have asked if we’re doing one of these videos ourselves—so here it is! Always double-check the sender, look out for odd phrasing or typos, and don’t be pressured by “urgent” messages. ✔️ 𝗙𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 Scammers know people are more generous during the holidays, so they’ll create fake charity sites to steal your money. Visit known charity sites directly to confirm legitimacy and avoid unfamiliar links. ✔️ 𝗨𝗻𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘀 A “too good to pass up” offer might be too good to be true. Stick to trusted online retailers and steer clear of suspicious URLs (like “amaz0n-offers.com”). ✔️ 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗺𝘀 If someone asks you to pay via gift cards, it’s a red flag.
