Hallucination: This is Not Just an Issue for Cutting-Edge Generative AI In the world of AI, hallucination—where a model generates outputs that are not based on real or accurate data—is not a new problem. While it’s often highlighted in the context of cutting-edge Generative AI, it’s a challenge that extends across many types of AI models, like Named Entity Recognition (NER), Machine Translation Models (e.g., Google Translate), and even Recommender Systems (e.g., Netflix). This issue highlights a critical truth: "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭". Ensuring that input data is accurate, complete, and contextually relevant is key to minimising hallucinations and improving overall performance. AI is a powerful tool, but like any tool, it’s only as effective as the information it's given. Let’s continue to prioritize data quality to unlock the true potential of AI. #AI #GenerativeAI #MachineLearning #NER #DataQuality #AIethics #ArtificialIntelligence
