Hallucination: This is Not Just an Issue for Cutting-Edge Generative AI In the world of AI, hallucination—where a model generates outputs that are not based on real or accurate data—is not a new problem. While it’s often highlighted in the context of cutting-edge Generative AI, it’s a challenge that extends across many types of AI models, like Named Entity Recognition (NER), Machine Translation Models (e.g., Google Translate), and even Recommender Systems (e.g., Netflix). This issue highlights a critical truth: "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭". Ensuring that input data is accurate, complete, and contextually relevant is key to minimising hallucinations and improving overall performance. AI is a powerful tool, but like any tool, it’s only as effective as the information it's given. Let’s continue to prioritize data quality to unlock the true potential of AI. #AI #GenerativeAI #MachineLearning #NER #DataQuality #AIethics #ArtificialIntelligence

In the continued process of demystifying generative AI this amusing slice of Cloud AI that everyone got into a brief kerfuffle over, here is a visual storytelling creation from the Financial Times. Welcome to the word salad generator known as the transformer. Here's a concise description of the process in scroll down form. Its cute. It will eventually become part of something bigger when we make better AI. This is just one small part of better things yet to be built. when this latest AI hype bubble is over, remember, LLMs and transformer are a useful incomplete tool that we'll find a better role for once the hype is gone and people look at it rationally. Right now its mostly a word salad generator for people who want to eat AI shit sandwiches. Don't let evangelists or hypesters feed you an AI shit sandwich. Generative AI isn't amazing, it's just another half done, over-hyped, broken tool waiting for a better use from rational people... in about 10-15 years. This is the reality of tech. Actual use is only found after the hype is gone, the bubble bursts and the stocks all drop. ----- Financial Times: "Generative AI exists because of the transformer. This is how it works. This is how it: Writes, Works, Learns, Thinks and Hallucinates" (By Visual Storytelling Team and Madhumita Murgia in London) (September 11, 2023) Financial Times: https://lnkd.in/gW4V8E6u "Research outlining the transformer model was first published by a group of eight AI researchers at Google in June 2017. Their 11-page research paper marked the start of the generative AI era." Google Summary: https://lnkd.in/gqwnmDUH #ai #fakeai #genai #degenai #generativeai #degenartiveai

What Schema is to Database, Knowledge Graph is to Generative AI Just as database schemas provide the structure and relationships that make data meaningful and actionable, knowledge graphs do the same for Generative AI. In the age of AI, knowledge graphs offer a way to organize and contextualize vast amounts of information, enabling AI models to not just generate data, but to understand and reason with it. The synergy between structured data and AI is where the future of smart, context-aware applications lies. #AI #KnowledgeGraphs #Innovation

Toolkit - Generative AI! Just completed a short course titled "Toolkit - Generative AI" developed by PwC Key takeaways: - Organizations need to build AI solutions that are both morally responsible and also legally and ethically defensible. - To build trust in AI systems, businesses must be enabled to explore the #data used to train the #models, expose the reasoning behind each decision, and provide coherent explanations to stakeholders promptly. - AI is a truly exciting and transformative technology, but it is important to remember it is not infallible. It is still emerging and we are still learning some of the ways it could go right and wrong #generativeai #genai #ai #toolkit #technology

AI Models Have an Expiry Date – Is Continual Learning the Solution? In a world where change is the only constant, traditional AI models face a challenge: they quickly become outdated. Continual Learning (CL) offers a way to address this by enabling models to adapt and evolve incrementally. Instead of retraining from scratch or risking catastrophic forgetting, CL methods maintain a balance between stability and plasticity, ensuring models retain valuable knowledge while adapting to new information. Curious about how CL can transform AI? Dive into the article by Alicja Dobrzeniecka on Towards Data Science to explore its potential and the future of AI adaptability. https://lnkd.in/g6ABssYS #AI #ContinualLearning #MachineLearning #DataScience #Innovation

Here's an interesting insight on AI: Did you know that AI algorithms can now learn from their own mistakes and adapt to new situations, much like humans do? This concept, called 'meta-learning,' enables AI to develop a form of 'intuition' and make decisions even when faced with unfamiliar data. It's like AI is developing its own version of 'common sense'! As AI continues to evolve, we can expect to see more human-like intelligence and problem-solving capabilities. The future of AI is not just about processing data, but about learning, adapting, and innovating like never before! #AI #MachineLearning #FutureOfTech
