Increasing #UniversalHealthCoverage is associated with better #breastcancer care. This is what Wang et al. reported in their study, where they compared the level of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and the Breast Cancer Quality of Care Index, which measures (1) the ratio of YLLs to YLDs, (2) the ratio of DALYs to incidence, (3) mortality-to-incidence ratio and (4) prevalence-to-incidence ratio. Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related deaths globally, yet screening rates significantly trail behind other critical screenings like colon and breast cancer. 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆: Studies demonstrate that early-stage lung cancer diagnosis can dramatically improve survival rates – up to seven times higher compared to advanced cases. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲: Lack of awareness and understanding among employees poses a significant barrier to increased screening rates.
