😜 OK, so this is going to be a fun week! This morning, my colleagues at MIN3 posted about our AI Artwork tool. 💪🏻 We've used this type of tool in lots of different contexts with clients - from creating unique images for metaverse membership cards, and tokenised real-world assets (like wine and spirits), through to embedding it with customer-facing products for stationery retailers etc. 🖼️ We've released a demo version of this tool on our website (link in the comments). This version is intended to be entertaining to use. (At least, we hope that you think so!). 💼 However, per this post from MIN3, there are sensible business reasons for designing the product in this way - e.g. it says something about the brand that utilises it, it engages potential customers (they spend more time with the brand, they market it to friends), it gives them a hand in creating the resulting product (meaning that they have a greater sense of ownership, and a deeper loyalty to the brand), and we've introduced elements of controlled randomness that can drive collectibility and secondary market sales. 💭 Plus, we've used technology that has infinite variety and imagination, but costs a fraction of the time and money of the traditional graphic design route. 🤫 This product can stand alone. Or it can be seamlessly integrated with other MIN3 products to create something even more compelling. But more on that next week... Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the ASA’s online event, “Future-proof Advertising: How will AI change advertising and regulation?” It was a fascinating deep dive into the convergence of AI, creativity, and the advertising codes. Peter Gasston from VCCP shared how the advertising industry is using generative AI for concept creation. Whether you’re involved in creating ads or reviewing them, his insights were thought-provoking. Peter explored the trade-off between efficiency and effectiveness when using AI, as well as concerns around intellectual property. If you’ve admired the AI-driven creative concepts behind ads like Virgin Media’s walrus-driven speedboat, or Daisy - the AI Granny that was created by O2 to waste scammers’ time, you’ll find his talk especially interesting. Emma Humber Smith from the ASA highlighted key points to consider when using generative AI in advertising to ensure compliance with the advertising codes. Adam Davison, also from the ASA, explained how the ASA’s Active Ad Monitoring System – its latest tool for identifying non-compliant online ads – is harnessing AI to process 3.5 million unique ads each month.
