Last year, some colleagues and I embarked on a 🚴 cycling trip from 🇬🇧London to 🇫🇷Paris in support of Alexander Jansons Myocarditis UK charity and I learned a few valuable lessons: - Sharing challenging experiences can foster deeper interpersonal connections and enhance group cohesion among colleagues. - How can I ask people to donate money if I don’t challenge myself and step out of my comfort zone? - I’ve rediscovered the beauty my country 🇫🇷 and its landscape like never before; sightseeing while cycling is truly underrated. -I’m amazed at how cyclists can endure hours on a saddle that feels like wood without complaining 😅 Well, this year, we're at it again. This time, we're going even further (400km) to the beautiful city of Amsterdam, and we're supporting a cause that is very close to some of us: Blood Cancer UK We will start our journey on the 28th of June and still have a big donation goal to achieve, so we would love your support in this! => https://lnkd.in/gtQjTGAw We greatly appreciate all donations, every little helps! As an example ... - £10 Could pay for essential equipment like the specialist pipettes used for the sterile handling of cells in the lab, helping researchers to study blood cancer and how it begins. - £20 Could provide around ten people newly diagnosed with blood cancer, with one of the health information booklets, helping them to understand their condition and become an active part in their own care and treatment. - £40 Could fund the provision of much needed emotional and practical support to someone affected by blood cancer in their hour of need. £50 Could allow researchers to look at genetic patterns in people with AML, using techniques that show them which genes are active in a cell at a given time. Thanks in advance 🙏 Lara Hörler Julia Pavlova Marlen Lawrenz Danielle Oliveira Jeremy Stirpe Anthony Dépale Hagop Derian Nicholas Pollak nCino, Inc.

The Committee Members of the Cancer Patient Assistance Program are excited to announce the 2024 All Cancers Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser! Saturday, October 12, 2024 @ Campbell Park Courts: 520 W 6th St, Imperial. Registration at 8:00 am, Honorary Walk at 8:30 am and Tournament begins at 9:00 am. The purpose of this event is to raise funds that are used to provide support for individuals from Chase County as well as patients who are treated here at the Chase County Community Hospital & Clinics. This financial support helps offset costs for patients who are receiving cancer treatments along with those who obtain prevention & detection services. It is also an opportunity to recognize local cancer survivors and to honor our loved ones who have lost their battles to cancer. This year’s event is “Pickleball” which is a paddle sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong. It's played with a perforated plastic ball and paddles on a court that's about a quarter of the size of a tennis court. Pickleball’s popularity has been growing in recent years for several reasons, including: 1. It is easy for practically anyone to learn how to play. 2. It is a Social Activity: because a pickleball court is smaller than a tennis court, gameplay allows players to be close enough to one another that they can hold conversations. 3. It provides great exercise for your mind and body. There will be a Novice/Beginner Division and an Advanced Division for those who have played before so regardless of your experience, this will be a great event in which to participate. Sundo's collaboration with KU Leuven reveals how a strategic nudge can significantly boost sunscreen use in public spaces. Our research shows that our nudge can lead to a 274% (!!!) increase in daily #sunscreen usage at certain locations. Unlike traditional skin cancer prevention campaigns that take time and are difficult to measure, this approach has an immediate, direct impact by ensuring more people apply sunscreen right away. I #love this #charity that is helping families with multiple therapies such as #art and #music #therapy, #grief #counseling, whatever a family unit needs if they have a #child with #Cancer for a #Lifetime , and it is only $1,500 to help a #Family, your fellow #Genus and #species to #cope and to #improve #lives of #children at #war with #Cancer. When #enduring #tough #times, it’s nice to know #AustinHatcher is going to be there for the whole family not just the #victim. That is a #World #Message. War is not: #Homo #sapiens (you) 🆚 Homo sapiens (me). War is all of #us winning something worse than the #bubonic #plague. Cancer is #nasty. It means your body is at war with itself. Over 💯 #Types of Cancer #attack #humans.
