Listen up, Medica newbies and veterans alike. Let's talk about a hard truth: 80% of U.S. companies fail to achieve their goals at Medica after the first year. Why? Because they're playing a numbers game in a sea of 85,000 visitors and 6,000 booths. Here's the deal: The chances of the right person stumbling upon your booth are about 1,000 to 1 if you don't have meetings set up in advance. You're essentially burning $13 a minute standing around with your hands in your pockets. So, how do you beat these odds? It's all about the pre-game. First, identify your ideal distributor profile. What type of partner do you need to succeed in your target markets? Next, research and create a list of distributors that fit this profile in your best target markets. Don't just rely on the show's database - dig deeper. Now, here's where most people drop the ball: Craft a compelling outreach email. This isn't a generic "Come see us at booth X" message. It's your pitch, tailored to each distributor's specific needs and market challenges. Follow up. Persistently. Remember, these distributors are being bombarded with meeting requests.
