No pet owner ever wants to think of the day they need to part with their beloved pet, but the option to give our pets a quick and pain-free death to end their suffering is a matter of good animal welfare and our last act of kindness to them. Leaving an animal to suffer is poor animal welfare and should never be an option. In our latest Pawprint magazine, we dived deep into the topic to help animal lovers understand why a veterinary surgeon may recommend euthanasia from an animal welfare standpoint, and to help pet owners determine when it is time to let go to end suffering.
