Great journeys deserve great soundtracks. That’s why Spafax is partnering with Blokur to make inflight music experiences even better. Managing music rights is no small task, but with Blokur's technology, we’re cutting through the complexity so we can focus on what really matters: creating standout playlists and helping passengers discover their next favorite tracks. This partnership also makes life easier for our airline clients by ensuring all our music is fully cleared and compliant. Combined with Tuned Global’s work on record label clearances, we’re set to offer a seamless music experience that’s as comprehensive as it is engaging. Our collaboration with Blokur was recently featured in Onboard Hospitality Magazine, highlighting how we’re optimizing the music publishing clearance process to deliver fresh, exciting audio content. Launching before the end of the year, this new system will help us bring fresh, exciting audio content to passengers worldwide as part of our 2025 inflight entertainment rollout. The live music industry is booming. With a projected growth of USD $35.56 billion and a CAGR of 17.38% from 2023 to 2028, the live music market is experiencing unprecedented expansion. This surge is fueled by a combination of factors, including a rising preference for live events, more affordable premium tickets, and the widespread adoption of mobile ticketing apps. Consumers are increasingly seeking unique and immersive entertainment experiences, and live music offers just that. Technological advancements in event organization and ticketing platforms further enhance the overall experience. According to Pollstar, a company that has tracked the live entertainment industry for decades, the 100 largest tours of 2023 grossed more than $9 billion, exceeding the previous record, set in 2022, by almost 50 percent. The historic result was achieved thanks to a combination of factors, as ticket sales were up 18 percent despite a 23 percent increase in average ticket prices. The main driver behind the live music boom were a couple of blockbuster tours, however, most notably Taylor Swift’s record-breaking “Era’s Tour” and Beyoncé’s “Renaissance Tour”, which together with Bruce Springsteen’s latest world tour accounted for more than 20 percent of the global top 100 gross.

“Independent creators account for almost 40% of the global music market and the growth of that sector shows no sign of slowing down. With this shift, global licensing and rights management solutions – including a centralized platform to handle administration, asset management, licensing, distribution and collections – are necessary to enable independent creators to grow and adapt to the market successfully.” Learn more about our division, Music Services, from John Josephson and Alexander Wolf's conversation with Music Ally.
