We are out of the ground! 🎉 We are very please to share these progress photos of a pair of houses currently on site in Herefordshire 🏠🏠 One of these houses, Llama Croft, will (hopefully🤞) be our first certified Passivhaus made entirely** out of natural, bio-based materials! Over the coming months, we will be sharing posts about how things are progressing on-site, and also explaining key details and design considerations that have gone into this unique passive house design. The site has be cleared & leveled as needed and the steel screw piles have been installed @stopdigginguk which will carry the glulam beams by the suspended timber floor. There are few options for concrete-free foundations and considering various factors (embodied carbon, soil disturbance, re-usability, recyclability...) and on-balance the steel screw-piles were the best option.
