Every year our company takes time off to be together at our annual retreat. No work, no agenda, just time to play. I feel strongly that life is hard enough and it is rare that adults get time to let go and play, relax, and be treated without the weight of responsibility. Each year these retreats mean more to our team and culture. Yes, it is an investment, but one I would make over and over because of the impacts I've seen: 💛 Greater trust between team members. When we have the opportunity to see and know each other on a personal level, that one slack that seems harsh doesn't matter. We give each other the benefit of the doubt and choose trust more often. 💥 Faster and more efficient work. When you learn people's communication styles outside of the workspace, there is shared understanding and connection that leads to faster work and fewer misunderstandings. ✨ We serve our clients better. When our cups are full and the team is grounded, our clients see the benefit. We come back with renewed energy to bring what we experienced to our clients. To serve them, care for them, and win for them. The motivation is unbeatable. ▶ ◀ Greater collaboration, teamwork, and loyalty to each other. We work as a team, not as individuals. Agency life is hard and often wrought with politics and 'every man for himself' mentality. With so much time together outside of the office, we have built a culture where the team is FOR each other - they celebrate each other's wins in ways that still blow me away. 🏝 Memories that last a lifetime. I have no idea how long Marketwake will be a part of each person's story. But whether it is for a lifetime or a short season, what is it all worth if we aren't able to have a positive impact? We are in the legacy business, that doesn't happen behind our computers, it happens when we are making memories together. We sat down with Marta to learn more about her & what she enjoys most about working at Seedtag. ❓ What’s the best thing about working at Seedtag? “If I had to choose just one thing about Seedtag, it would definitely be the people. The energy and desire to make things work is contagious. The good atmosphere that is generated encourages you to be more creative and, in addition, being surrounded by people full of fresh ideas and a desire to do different things, makes working an exciting and collaborative experience. The closeness between the team makes ideas flow and every achievement is celebrated as a shared triumph. Every day is a new adventure.” ❓Favorite dish? “I could tell you SO many foods, I love to eat! From a Spanish potato omelette stuffed with ‘ropa vieja’ made by my mother to rice with ‘carabineros’ (and without rice even better).” ❓ What makes you the most nervous? I would definitely say clutter in all its forms. I am a very tidy person and I like to make lists for everything. I really believe that living in order gives me peace of mind.” ❓ Without which of the five senses could you live? “Difficult question! Of course I couldn't live without common sense. But speaking of the five senses, without tasting I couldn't live as you have seen. The same goes for smelling (as it is necessary for tasting as well). On Monday, BEESY Strategy hit a milestone that only 0.5% of new businesses in the US ever accomplish...and we are just getting started! It was also an important milestone for me as it was the minimum goal threshold that I needed to achieve to feel that I had personally been successful in founding BEESY. So it bought both a sense of excitement but also of relief! While I have framed things above as a personal goal, market research is a team sport, and I am immensely proud and grateful for the team we have here at BEESY, who ultimately were the ones that made this happen. I have worked with great teams through my career...quite simply, this is the greatest.
