Now that our hearts and stomachs are filled.
All those gifts, meals, parties and events.
Who made all of that happen?
Who paid for all of that food?
Who’s home did your family gather to?
Was it you?
Are you the person everyone relies on?
But whether it’s you now, or whether it will be you in the future.
You should be thinking about the actions you will take to make future Christmases even better than this one.
People always ask
“It’s the Holidays why are you working!”
Because in order to FACILITATE fun,
Or provide a safe place for loved ones to gather and celebrate,
It requires work, effort, and sacrifice.
Not just monetarily but sometimes that means working over the “holidays”
Your mind never being fully OFF.
It’s not hustle culture is about feeling a divine purpose of being able to spread joy and smiles to all of your loved ones.
Being that person that people can rely on when they’re in need.
So if you had a great holiday season,
Thank that person.
And if you were that person or aspire to be him/her.
It’s back to work.

Today is my last day of travel for the year. As we enter the Christmas season, many of us engage in traditions that bring joy and warmth such as decorating trees, exchanging gifts, and rekindling connections. But beyond these customs lies a unique opportunity for reflection and innovation.
Christmas is a powerful reminder of the importance of taking a step back and evaluating our personal and professional journeys. Just like the holiday encourages us to reflect on the year gone by, it’s also an invitation to inspire new ideas for the upcoming year. Just as we adorn a tree with meaningful ornaments, we can think about our experiences throughout the year—what have we learned, what accomplishments spark joy, and what challenges encouraged growth? The thought behind gift-giving can translate into thinking how we "gift" our skills to others in the workplace. This could mean mentoring a colleague, sharing insights during a meeting, or even initiating a new project that benefits the entire team.
The rituals we cherish can inspire creative solutions and new ways of thinking. For example, engaging in creative storytelling or activities during holiday gatherings can forge stronger team dynamics, leading to innovative ideas and collaboration tools in our workplaces. The team at Hibiscus Monkey LLP recently had a Christmas themed paint night at their office to let flow creativity.
Wishing everyone a season filled with inspiration, growth, joy and happiness.
Merry Christmas!
🌟 Happy National Be Late for Something Day! 🌟
Today, September 5th, we celebrate a unique and lighthearted holiday that encourages us to take a step back from our hectic schedules and embrace the art of being fashionably late. 🕰️
Why celebrate being late? This day was created by the Procrastinators’ Club of America, founded by Les Waas in 1956. The idea behind it is to highlight the positive aspects of procrastination and remind us to slow down and enjoy the little things in life. Whether it’s taking a moment to appreciate a beautiful sunrise, spending extra time with loved ones, or simply indulging in a bit of self-care, today is the perfect excuse to do so.
As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you might think I’d be the last person to promote this day, given our constant emphasis on punctuality. And for those in the aviation industry, where airlines pride themselves on being on time, the concept of a holiday dedicated to being late might seem a bit odd. ✈️
I am not one to promote being late, but I found this holiday so intriguing that I had to share it with you all. It’s been around longer than I’ve been alive—who knew? 😂 I guess most people, like myself, wouldn’t willingly promote this particular national day, but I thought it would be something cool and interesting to learn about. So, I’m sharing it with you all.
In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush and forget to savor the moments that truly matter. So, let’s take this opportunity to be a little late for something that brings us joy and peace. Just kidding. But seriously, let’s find time for what brings us joy and peace. 🌸
How are you planning to celebrate National Be Late for Something Day?
Share your thoughts and let’s inspire each other to find balance and happiness in our busy lives. 💬
Hope you have a wonderful day! 😍

It’s that time of year again when I bring up a topic that seems to strike a nerve for many: holiday parties.
I'm just going to ask you an honest question. What’s the real purpose of a holiday party?
Is it truly a reward for your team, or is it an expectation masked as "fun"? Because for many, it feels more like punishment.
• Not everyone is comfortable in environments centered around alcohol.
• These events can feel forced and exhausting for introverts or those who prefer a hard boundary between work and personal life.
• Using people’s limited, precious free time for a work-related event doesn’t always come across as the gift it’s meant to be.
Sure, some folks love a good party (including me), but let’s not ignore the people who quietly dread them. If the goal is team bonding, morale-building, or celebrating achievements, are there other ways to accomplish that? Ways that are more inclusive, less stressful, and don’t leave people feeling obligated to participate?
The holidays are stressful enough without adding mandatory fun to the mix. Let’s do better, people. Ask your team what they value and how they’d like to celebrate. You might be surprised by the answer and the gratitude that comes with it.
What are your thoughts? Are holiday parties a yay or a nay in your world?

Are you dreading your office holiday party because you don’t know what to say to people? Are you introverted and struggling with starting conversations and making meaningful connections?
You know you must go, not going would look bad. But what looks worse is going and standing on the wall scrolling on your phone.
You aren’t alone.
53% of Americans are not excited about attending their company holiday party. So, what do you say? How do you create small talk?
