Your visitors WANT to believe in your nonprofit. But when they come to your org's site and there's not enough info… It's frustrating. 😤 It communicates: "This org doesn't see me." They came to learn more, and are rebuffed. They don't find enough information to become invested in your work. And so, lacking any other option, they leave in search of another org that actually speaks to their expectations. A small website is better than no website. A site with two pages is (usually) better than a site with one. But most nonprofits need at least a strong handful of pages of reasonable length to provide enough info for visitors to really dive into. #nonprofit #nonprofits #webdesign #branding #storytelling 👾

I’ve spent over 20 years in the trenches of nonprofit fundraising, and there's one thing that never ceases to frustrate me: The constant chase for the shiny new fundraising fad. Why? Because it’s often a way to avoid the real work—the basics that truly drive success: 1️⃣ **Having a Plan**: Know how much you are trying to raise, from whom, and how you plan on getting there. A solid strategy is your roadmap to success. Are you clear on your goals and the steps needed to achieve them? 2️⃣ **Building a Community**: It's not just about collecting followers; it's about engaging, nurturing, and valuing them. Your supporters want to feel like they’re part of something bigger. Are you making them feel that way? 3️⃣ **Cultivating Meaningful Relationships**: This takes time and genuine effort. Quick wins are rare. Deep connections with donors, understanding their passions, and aligning them with your mission is where the magic happens. 4️⃣ **Clear and Compelling Vision**: Before asking for big money, ensure you have a clear and compelling vision with tangible impact. You need to articulate this well so that donors know exactly what they are getting for their investment. Can you vividly paint the picture of the change their donation will bring? 5️⃣ **Asking for BIG MONEY**: Fear of rejection often holds us back, but here’s the reality: if you don’t ask, you don’t get. Major gifts can transform your organization, but you have to be bold enough to make the ask. Too many leaders are riddled with fear, hiding behind the latest fundraising trends instead of tackling these fundamentals head-on. Remember, there’s no substitute for the basics. #Fundraising #Majorgifts #NonprofitLeadership

So here's a fun way to think about leading your nonprofit board. Imagine you’re out rollerskating with friends! That's right. And the key to getting everyone rolling is really so easy peasy, my friends! First, let's get super clear on your direction. That way you can tailor your fundraising strategies, set realistic expectations, and: • Define everyone’s roles, • Build a culture where giving is the norm; and • Use your board members’ strengths to the fullest. I’ve outlined six key questions to identify the best fundraising strategies for any organization. 1. How much am I looking to raise? 2. Who benefits the most from the impact we create? 3. Are there grants, funding, or credit available for my mission? 4. What benefits or offers can I provide donors or sponsors as a nonprofit organization? 5. Are there mission-related services/products we can sell for a fee or commission? 6. What are the leverage points within our organization? By answering each of these questions, you can identify and build your fundraising campaigns around the best strategies that anchor on the strengths and opportunities within your organization. If you want a better understanding or are eager to start taking the proper steps, we can schedule a paid call to discuss and identify the best fundraising strategies for your organization and the step-by-step process to execute each strategy. #fundraising #funding #nonprofit #impact
