Better late than never! We were thrilled to attend the StoryBrand’s 2024 Made Simple Summit. We had the privilege of reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. This summit wasn’t just about professional growth—it was personal, the relational moments mattered most. It reminded us how crucial time spent together is for growth, connection, and inspiration, whether that was Sunny grilling with our friends, going on a hike, watching amazing sunsets or listening to jazz. Hearing from speakers like Megan Hyatt Miller, Tiffany Aliche, and Michael Bungay Stanier was a gift, but Will Guidara’s insights on 'Unreasonable Hospitality' resonated deeply. His journey from elevating Eleven Madison Park to a global icon is a testament to the power of service and leadership. Thinking about how we can bring that same level of thoughtful, genuine care to our clients at Solace Media is energizing. Finally, chatting with Donald Miller, Natasha Paradeshi and Christian Hinojosa recording a podcast on how to use StoryBrand for nonprofits with Dr. J.J. Peterson, and sharing ideas with so many brilliant minds made this summit unforgettable. #MadeSimpleSummit #StoryBrand https://lnkd.in/gB8vR5FJ https://lnkd.in/g4adYHP6 https://lnkd.in/gyauxywk https://lnkd.in/g39TVb8j https://lnkd.in/g8gp7Ph6 https://lnkd.in/gZVx5fBi https://lnkd.in/g8q8hH-P https://lnkd.in/gyGti7an https://lnkd.in/gESWEvyf https://lnkd.in/gRcHjPpz https://lnkd.in/gTVKKSAq

Sponsorships can be a complicated but helpful addition to an event. But when you guide your decision-making on the “know, like, and trust” model, you’re already ahead of the game. Jay Owen recently shared on the Sell With Authority podcast about how he went about finding great sponsors for an event he was hosting and the struggles he faced trying to find sponsors for it. He emphasized that building genuine relationships and ensuring a 'triple win' for everyone involved — sponsors, organizers, and attendees — are key to putting on a successful event. Here’s the reality — you want to work with sponsors who you know, like, and trust enough to integrate into your community and the other people who are helping put on the event. You want everyone involved to truly benefit the audience and create a “triple win” effect. I’m telling you, when this trifecta aligns, everyone’s in a better place — and the community only gets stronger. Now’s the time to double down. Check the first comment for a link to the full episode. Onward with gusto!

From Hollywood to NOSH: Jennifer Garner Set the Bar High Let's be honest here. When @Jennifer Garner walked onto the stage to kick off Nosh.com, a was in awe. I’m already a big fan of her work (who isn’t?), but after seeing her share the stage with John Foraker of Once Upon a Farm, I’m an even bigger fan. Jennifer's commitment to their mission of making better nutrition accessible for kids—and her drive to elevate her business acumen while balancing the demands of being a Hollywood A-lister—was nothing short of inspiring. She’s proof you can be a superstar on and off the screen. With that, here are my three biggest takeaways from this incredible NOSH conference: 1. It Takes a Village Jeff Klineman, Editor-in-Chief at BevNET.com, shared with me just how much teamwork goes into making NOSH the event we all love. The unseen effort—from preparing speakers to ensuring every detail lands—reminded me that behind every great outcome is a great team. 2. Rising Tides Float All Boats At a dinner hosted by VMG Partners, ForceBrands, and Redbud Brands, I saw what true collaboration looks like. It wasn’t just networking; it was an investment in bringing people together, even competitors. 🙏 to Brian Goldberg, Sean Conner, and Wayne Wu One unexpected highlight for me that evening? Wayne introducing me to my “worthy rival,” Mike Keech of Liquid I.V. IV, from my Nuun Hydration days. Turns out, we’re more alike than I thought. 3. Plant Roots Before Scaling The best advice from the conference: FOCUS on being distinct and relevant to a core audience before trying to scale. It’s tempting to go big too soon, but success comes from proving yourself first. ==> Precision and patience win every time. This industry inspires me more every day. A BIG thank YOU to John Craven, Jeff Klineman, and the entire BevNET Team for putting on a show that makes us better leaders and entrepreneurs. Let’s keep growing, together! #NOSH #cultureFIRSTleadership #Gratitude

Thanks for the kind words, Matt Also, it’s a very good book
Creative Strategist, Keynote Speaker, Brand Coach, Author, Start-Up Mentor and Co-Founder, Four Pillars Gin
It’s been quite the week for Tim Burrowes and Cat McGinn at Unmade. On the one hand, they (alongside brilliant leaders like Jet Swain and Jasmin Bedir) have been instrumental in helping the advertising industry locate its voice, conscience and conviction to be better after a decade or three when, all too often, all three seem to have gone missing. On the other hand, they’ve been getting ready for a huge new conference next week, Unlock, looking at how we can grow Sydney’s night-time economy and unlock opportunities for brands, businesses, media and marketing in the process. I’m thrilled to be part of the conversation, with my opening keynote session focused on the role of brand experiences. Even better will be the roster of brilliant speakers who will follow me. There's Colin Daniels reflecting on the learnings of bringing SXSW Sydney to Sydney. There are Alice Ellis and Tahlia Phillips, leaders at two of our most important cultural publications, Time Out and Concrete Playground. Then there's the brilliantly creative and energising brand thinker Eugene Healey, the leadership wisdom of Michael Rodrigues and Kate Wickett and so many more brilliant people with brilliance to share. So I was very flattered that, amongst all this, Tim Burrowes found the time to talk to me about my new book, Lessons From Gin. Unsurprisingly, given Tim’s talents as a journalist and his insights as someone who been covering and thinking about marketing and brand building since I walked into Jack Morton Australia in 2006, the conversation was fascinating. I'll put the links to the Unlock conference, to Tim's chat with me on his Unmade podcast, and to pre-order my book in the comments below. Cheers friends! #fourpillarsgin #lessonsfromgin #unmade #unlocksydney

Melinda French Gates, Philanthropist Teaches Impactful Giving @ MasterClass Interesting & inspiring key takeaways “If you want to get more out of your life, try thinking about what animates, inspires, and drives you to do good. Living these values may not be possible in every scenario, but thinking hard about—and literally taking note of—what you stand for can help give you a clearer sense of how to go about creating positive change.” “In the course of your efforts, you may encounter barriers that seem insurmountable. They don’t have to be physical; they could be cultural, political, or personal. It’s vital to slow down and ask yourself “Why is that barrier there?” Be patient, ask for advice (especially from those in the community you’re hoping to help), and identify the root cause of the barrier before attempting to break it down.” “There are so many different ways to give—your time, your money, your expertise, your voice. You have something to give back.” ------------------------------------------ What do we do? 🌏 We develop the Asian luxury market for hotels and lifestyle brands 🤝 We provide sales, marketing and communications support to increase brand awareness and business 💎 We are passionate about anything luxury Liked this post?
