Happy Arbor Day! Created to inspire people to plant and nurture trees, Arbor Day also celebrates the managed forests that give us sustainable wood products. Did you know that... 🌲 Responsible forest management has resulted in more than 50 consecutive years of net forest growth in North America. 🌲 1.39 billion conifer seedlings are produced annually, or 36.8 per every million board feet produced. 🌲 Forest thinning and other management practices mitigate wildfires, cut carbon emissions, expand wildlife habitat, and create jobs in rural areas. 🌳 Restoring Native Woodland at Finnebrogue 🌳 Exciting things are happening at Finnebrogue as we take steps to restore the native woodland on the Finnebrogue Estate. As part of this project, we’re replanting 3,000 of Ireland’s most iconic indigenous trees, including oak, ash, hazel, silver birch, Scots pine, rowan, alder, wild cherry and crab apple. To make space for these native trees to thrive, we’ll be removing non-native species like Norway Spruce, Sitka Spruce and Corsican Pine. By restoring this native woodland along the banks of the River Quoile, we’re enhancing biodiversity and creating a vibrant corridor for wildlife to thrive. This effort is all about giving back to the land and creating a sustainable, thriving habitat for generations to come. https://lnkd.in/eNTntfkY

Herbivores are vital to the health and balance of our ecosystems. By grazing, they help shape plant communities, promote nutrient cycling, and create habitats that support a wide range of species. Their role is essential, not just for the survival of other wildlife but also for maintaining the overall health of the environment. At our 350,000-acre concession, we are deeply committed to preserving and protecting this delicate balance. Our efforts go beyond simply conserving land—we actively manage and restore these habitats to ensure that every species, from the smallest herbivore to the largest predator, can thrive. By safeguarding these vast landscapes, we protect the intricate web of life that depends on them. Join us in our mission to protect and preserve these critical ecosystems for future generations. Every effort we make today helps secure a healthier, more sustainable planet tomorrow. Photo Credit: Ross Couper
