Every day is a cloud fest! ☁️ Last week, some of our colleagues went to "Cloudfest", an annual fair held in Europe's biggest amusement park. It brings together interesting people around the topics of cloud technologies and innovations. Networking, workshops, a hackathon, exciting keynotes - it was all there. Although we enjoy the possibility to meet other tech enthusiasts at events like this, if we are being honest: Every day is kind of a cloud fest for us. Because "being cloud" is a mindset that shapes what we do, how we do it, and the way we approach things. To enhance innovation speed, improve resource flexibility, and deliver services via cloud computing rather than on-premise. Our conclusion about the event: A good place to absorb lots of different inputs on a high level - or for companies looking to meet suppliers. A highlight was the presentation by Palo Alto. And of course, since this event takes place in an amusement park, free roller-coaster rides were a bonus 🎢😉 What does cloud mean to you?

Great conversations were happening behind the scenes at the Future Congress 2024! I had the pleasure of connecting with Jeffrey Kratz (VP, Worldwide Public Sector Industry International Sales at AWS), Alan Halachmi (Director, Worldwide Public Sector Solutions Architecture at Amazon), and Philip von Haehling (Public Sector Head AWS of Central Europe and Ireland). Here are my key takeaway: 👉 The AWS European Sovereign Cloud will be a new independent cloud for Europe, designed to provide further choice to help public sector organizations and customers in highly regulated industries meet their evolving sovereignty needs. 👉 The AWS European Sovereign Cloud is planning to launch its first AWS Region in the State of Brandenburg, Germany, by the end of 2025, available to all customers. 👉 This shows that sovereignty is at the very top of priorities for all hyper scalers and that it will be driven forward with high priority.
