We’ve all seen those tempting online deals, right? But before you click "Buy Now," or "To-Good-To-Be-True" deals make sure that website is legit! 🛑 Fraud sites are out there waiting to take your money. Fraudulent websites can disguise themselves as legitimate stores, putting your personal and financial information at risk. To keep yourself protected, use tools like ScamAdviser.com or VirusTotal.com to verify the authenticity of the sites you visit. Additionally, consider browser extensions like 'HTTPS Everywhere' and 'Web of Trust' (WOT), which help flag unsafe websites and enforce secure connections. Remember, a little caution goes a long way in protecting your online shopping experience! Stay savvy, shop smart, and help spread the word about online safety! #CyberMonday shopping is in full-swing, but cybercriminals may be shopping for your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) too. Use our step-by-step guide to avoid these scams: 1️⃣ Avoid the lure. → If it seems too good to be true… it probably is. Most bad actors typically use a sense of urgency to incite action, and Cyber Monday deals present the perfect opportunity to trick unsuspecting shoppers into acting fast. 2️⃣ Do your due diligence. → When you receive a promotion via text or email, ask yourself questions such as, "Is this normally how I receive notifications from this company?”. 3️⃣ Verify the Sender. → One way to verify the organization's identity is by clicking the avatar next to the Sender Name in an email, which will show you the true email sender within the chevrons. If the email has a strange Top Level Domain other than ".com", you have a grinch on your hands. 🥶 Looking for other ways to freeze cybercriminals? Visit https://lnkd.in/evHUcc7x
