New life word: COMPASSIONATE JUSTICE. I have long followed Judge Frank Caprio and ‘Caught in Providence.’ His commitment to compassionate justice and his unwavering empathy to every single case that comes before him, reminds us that behind every case, there's a human story. What is Compassionate Justice? Compassionate justice involves approaching matters with a deep understanding of individual circumstances and empathy. It means recognizing the human element in every situation. At work, it involves leaders understanding employees' challenges, providing support and creating an environment that fosters growth rather than fear. It's about recognizing that mistakes can be learning opportunities and offering constructive guidance. In life, it means approaching conflicts with empathy & treating people with dignity and recognizing that everyone is navigating their own journey, facing unique challenges. It is about fostering a culture of understanding, empathy, and growth, creating spaces where individuals can learn and thrive, even in the face of challenges. It is, in short, a powerful blend of empathy and understanding, transforming judgment into an opportunity for growth and fostering a world where understanding, triumphs over punishment. Thank you, Judge Caprio! ❤️ #compassionatejustice #compassionateleadership #judgefrankcaprio

A Man For All Seasons - Why The First Amendment Protects Free Speech. My post this morning about the shocking speech by John Kerry, which echoes current political argument challenging free speech, and attacking the First Amendment to the Constitution, brought to mind the wonderful movie, A Man For All Seasons. Thomas More defied attacks on the law by his King, his family, and Parliament. The Devil speech from the movie is the best defense of the law and free speech I have heard. Free speech must be tolerated unless it violates the law against advocacy of violence. If men are to be free, they must be free to say whatever they wish. If we restrict that right for political expediency, we are no longer free. That is not difficult to understand. Watch this clip. It is also the reason why we give criminals the same rights to a free and fair trial as anyone else. It is the reason why lawyers who defend criminals are patriots. https://lnkd.in/eSXx-fbQ
