Smiley | Sackcloth & Ashes: A Collaboration That Gives Back 🌟 Sackcloth & Ashes has donated hundreds of thousands of blankets to homeless shelters across the USA, driven by an inspiring mission: for every blanket sold, they donate one to someone in need. With a bold vision to donate 1 million blankets, founders Bob Dalton, Cody DeJardin, Jeremy Seick and their team are leading the way in combining business with purpose. We’re thrilled to launch the Smiley x Sackcloth & Ashes Bloom Collection, a partnership rooted in positivity and creativity. 🎨 US artist and author Morgan Harper Nichols designed four stunning blankets for this collection, blending floral designs with edgy, muted color palettes infused with Smiley’s iconic brightness. Her storytelling spirit shines through every detail of this collaboration. 🌍 These blankets are as kind to the planet as they are to people. Made with a blend of recycled fabrics, including acrylic, polyester, wool, and fibers sourced from donated clothing, factory scraps, and landfill materials, they embody sustainable craftsmanship. 👏 A huge thank you to Janet Martin, Gill MacKenzie, and the entire Smiley team for bringing this beautiful project to life. It’s a joy to collaborate with brands that spread positivity and make a real difference. ✨ The Bloom Collection is now available in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, and Italy. Explore it at sackclothandashes.com.

NEW JOURNAL POST about our ongoing support of the wonderful charity Furnishing Futures. In line with our agenda on sustainability, we are constantly educating ourselves on where some of the issues lie within the interior design industry. Did you know that due to current fire safety legislation, all fire labels on upholstered furniture items must be in tact in order for charities like Furnishing Futures to be able to re-use them in their designs? Where possible, we avoid ripping off fire labels and aim to tuck them inside cushion covers or tape them to the underside of a chair, for example. That way, wonderful charities like Furnishing Futures can benefit from being able to re-use as many items as possible in to the homes of those in need. *If you are a furniture manufacturer, please take note! Please be mindful to secure your fire labels somewhere discreet so that they can remain in tact when in use. Together we can improve circularity in the furniture industry!* https://lnkd.in/eAGRZVCT

Fall is here, and so is the start of the decorating season. Organizing fall decorations can help you keep everything tidy and ensure you're prepared for future seasons. Here are 5 tips to help you. 🍂Sort by Theme: Separate your items into categories like pumpkins, leaves, candles, or Halloween-specific decorations. This way, you can easily find what you need based on the specific fall event). 🍂 Organize by Date or Holiday: Organize items in the order you'll need them. Keep Halloween decorations at the top of bins or in separate containers for easy access, and store Thanksgiving decorations separately. 🍂 Declutter Before Storing: Take inventory of what you have as you put decorations away. If something is broken, outdated, or unused, consider donating, recycling, or discarding it. This will help keep your collection manageable over time. 🍂 Store Candles in Cool Areas: Store candles in a cool, dry place to prevent them from melting or warping. Wrap them in tissue paper or place them in boxes to prevent nicks and scratches. 🍂 Label Storage Bins: Use clear plastic bins so you can see what's inside, or label each bin with details like "Pumpkins," or "Thanksgiving Tableware." If you choose a seasonal bin color, make sure you get enough while they are in stock. If you need assistance with organization, unpacking, or preparing for a move, book your FREE consultation today. #fall #decorations #getorganized #declutter #purge #donate #organizingpro #homeorganizer #houstonhomeorganizer #professionalorganizerhouston #hireaprofessionalorganizer #blackprofessionalorganizers #womenowned #NABPO #NAPO #Texas #harriscounty #montgomerycounty #galvestoncounty #iOrganize #YouMatter2Us #fyp

Here are some bedroom organization hacks👇🏻 ✅ Use decorative baskets and trays to organize things kept on your dresser. A small dish works great for catching loose jewelry. ✅ Place a chest at the end of your bed for storing extra bedding. ✅Underbed storage that slides out is a great option for storing shoes. ✅ Instead of using standing bookshelves that reduce floor space, install bookshelves higher up on the walls. ✅ You can use simple hooks that hang over the doors for holding frequently used bags and purses. ✅ Dust your room once a week. This is a great way to see what you’re actually using and what’s just sitting and literally collecting dust. 📌Consider selling or donating items that aren’t being used, or storing them out of the way to reduce clutter.

Have some leftover paint from a recent project? Here are some ways you can dispose of, or store it for future use. Use It Up: The best way to dispose of paint is to use it completely. Apply additional coats to your project, use it for touch-ups around the house, or find small objects to paint. Store It Properly: If you can’t use up all the paint right away, store it for future use. Ensure the lid is tightly sealed, and keep the can in a cool, dry place to prevent it from drying out or spoiling. Recycle or Donate: If you have paint left that you can’t use or store, consider recycling or donating it. Many communities have paint recycling programs where you can drop off your leftover paint. Alternatively, you can donate it to schools, community centers, or theater groups that might need paint for their projects. Solidify and Dispose: If recycling or donating isn't an option, solidify the paint before disposing of it. For latex paint, you can let it dry out in the can by leaving the lid off. You can also mix it with cat litter or a commercial paint hardener to speed up the drying process. Once the paint is solidified, you can dispose of it with your regular household trash. However, oil-based paints are considered hazardous waste and should be taken to a proper disposal facility. #iPaintByVic #YEG #HomePainting #homepainting #interiorpainting #kitchen #kitchendesign #bedroom #benjaminmoore #paint #benjaminmoorepaint #sherwinwilliams #paintcolor #interiorpaint #wallpapersamples #sherwinwilliamspaint #exteriorpaint #interiordesign #homeowner #homeredesign #redesign #edmonton #alberta #calgary #yyc #stonyplain #sherwoodpark

🏡As many people are preparing to list their homes for sale this summer, we have the honor and privilege of helping with a lot of the initial decluttering before staging and packing can even begin. A recent client asked us to tackle several rooms in her home including the 👩🏽🍳kitchen in a matter of 2 hours by one member of #TeamIJS. Biggest tips and take aways? 🍇Always find the low hanging fruit first and in this case it was the stuff on the floors and counter. It gave us the ability to then dive into the cabinets and drawers and pull out what was going to be donated or thrown out. 🗑️Immediately remove donations and trash from the space or your brain will continue to only see clutter and not a clearing. 🗄️Make sure there is enough space in the cabinets and drawers to temporarily contain stuff on the counter that you use on a daily basis but don't want out for any Realtor showings. 🖼️And don't forget about taking anything on your refrigerator (photos, magnets, etc.) off the surfaces, as well as remove anything that has been collecting dust on top of the refrigerator or use a basket to "corral" everything for a more aesthetically appealing visual, but still give you access to whatever you put inside it. #GarageOrganization #HomeOrganization #Declutter #TransformYourSpace #ItsJustStuff #professionalorganizer #downsizing #homeorganizer #clutter #organizing
